Boric acid in the ear

When this problem occurs, boric acid, which has remarkable antiseptic properties, is an indispensable helper. When prescribing an otolaryngologist, boric alcohol is used in the complex treatment of simple otitis media. Hydrogen peroxide is additionally prescribed for washing the auricle , and antibacterial drops are used to fight the infection.

If you have pain in the ear, first of all, you need to contact a specialist. This visit will help to rule out otitis media and the internal inflammatory process. Boric acid in the ear is used for complex treatment. It perfectly complements antibacterial drops and tablets.

Boric acid in the ear with otitis media can be used only after a preliminary procedure for cleaning the shell with hydrogen peroxide, which will effectively remove sulfur. Purified auditory canals will perceive the drug as much as possible. For this, five drops of peroxide are instilled into a sore ear, and, bending their heads in the opposite direction, gently wipe it with a cotton swab. Three drops of boric acid should enter the ear canal. After ten minutes, you need to sharply turn your head in the opposite direction and remove excess moisture. Boric acid is instilled into the ear up to four times during the day. After the end of each procedure, it is necessary to remove excess moisture from the auricle.

For the treatment of otitis media at night, boric acid for the ears is used as a compress. Gauze flagella are moistened with this tool, which are laid in the sore ear.

Boric alcohol for otitis media is used in combination with antibacterial drops, which are instilled after it. The diseased ear is cleaned with hydrogen peroxide. After that, a cotton wool with heated boric alcohol is laid. After an hour, antibacterial drops are used.

Contraindications

Drug preparation

Boric acid is used as a disinfectant and antiseptic. This drug is used externally in the form of alcohol and aqueous solutions, and for skin diseases it is part of the powders.

To prepare a solution of boric acid, you must have:

- bottle

- cotton swab,

- stand

- a funnel

- measured capacity,

- the acid itself.

The bottle must be washed with water, previously filtered through cotton wool. Then dissolve 2.4 grams of boric acid in 120 grams of hot water. Strain the resulting solution and pour into a container.

When using boric acid, it must be remembered that it belongs to poisons. Therefore, avoid contact with this product in the eyes. Also, the oral cavity should not be treated with boric acid, since absorption of this drug into the blood can cause poisoning of the body.
