Baked chicken is a dish that is found both on holiday tables and on ordinary days at dinner. Probably any housewife has heard or knows the recipe for its preparation in an ordinary oven. What about a slow cooker, which today has become very popular among lovers of tasty and wholesome food? Chicken baked whole in a slow cooker is a reality! To do this, you need a little time, chicken, slow cooker and the ingredients necessary for cooking.
So, bake the chicken in a slow cooker. You will need:
- chicken (the size depends on the desire and size of the multicooker bowl);
- 100 g of medium fat sour cream for the preparation of marinade;
- salt, spices, seasoning, herbs and other similar additions - to taste;
- 1 medium onion;
- 1 carrot;
- 2 cloves of garlic.
The amount of ingredients (as well as their list as a whole) can vary depending on the size of the bird, the taste preferences of the people for whom it is prepared, and many other factors.
The first thing we do when we bake chicken in a slow cooker is mix sour cream, salt, pepper and herbs. It is advisable to give preference to fresh herbs and black pepper. If you like dry greens, you can use this option. If desired, you can add a special seasoning for chicken. Next, squeeze the garlic into this mixture and mix everything well. You can also add some special chicken sauce or your favorite, tartar for example.
The resulting sauce should be carefully coated with chicken from all sides, including the inside. At the end of this action, we wrap the carcass in a plastic wrap and send it to the refrigerator, where the chicken will marinate for a couple of hours.
Since we bake chicken in a slow cooker, it will turn out juicy and soft, but in order to make it taste like chicken from the oven, you need to prepare onions and carrots.
When the meat is pickled, you need to remove the film and very carefully put the carcass into the multicooker bowl. Note that sunflower oil can not be added, since the amount of fat contained in the chicken will be enough for its preparation. Part of the onion is placed inside the chicken, part - on top. We do the same with carrots.
After that, you need to turn on the slow cooker and set the "Baking" mode for 1 hour. After some time (about half an hour), the chicken needs to be turned over and add a little water. In half an hour the dish is ready! If it seemed to you that the meat was not baked, bake the chicken in a slow cooker for a while.
In exactly the same way, you can bake not a whole chicken, but parts of it. If suddenly the volume of the bowl does not allow you to cook the chicken carcass, you can cut it or cook legs or wings. The taste will be approximately the same.
Note that the temperature conditions in different multicookers may vary. For example, chicken baked in the Polaris slow cooker usually cooks faster than in a Philips appliance. In some crock-pot, the skin will turn out more crispy, somewhere the meat will be softer.
