The drug "Contrical" is of natural origin, as it is produced from such an organ as the lungs of cattle. The tool is a complex molecule having a protein structure. It reduces the activity of digestive enzymes and fibrinolysis. Thus, this drug can stop bleeding caused by an excess of substances that dissolve blood clots and heal pancreatic lesions (self-digestion) when a large number of enzymes are released due to an attack of pancreatitis. Contrical release form and composition
According to the instructions to "Contrikal", at present, the drug has only one form of release. This is a lyophilisate used to prepare a solution that is injected into a vein. The drug in ampoules can be purchased at any pharmacy.
In the form of capsules or tablets "Contrical" does not exist.
The active ingredient in it is aprotinin. As an auxiliary, mannitol acts. Mannitol and aprotinin form a lyophilizate, diluted with solvent and used intravenously. When is the drug used?
As the instructions indicate, "Contrical" is a tool that is used to treat pathological conditions of various kinds. So, this medicine stops bleeding in conditions such as:
- after surgery on the lungs and prostate;
- due to amniotic fluid embolism;
- developing due to extracorporeal circulation;
- after injuries;
- bleeding before, during, and after childbirth.
In all these situations, the drug "Contrical" in ampoules is used as a hemostatic - hemostatic. In addition, the drug is used to treat a number of pathological conditions, such as:
- acute pancreatitis;
- pancreatic necrosis;

- self-digestion of the pancreas during surgical operations on it or on neighboring organs (as a prophylaxis of postoperative pancreatitis);
- bleeding after surgery;
- embolism with fatty particles during injuries, especially with fractures of the skull or large bones of the leg.
In addition, when performing an operation such as coronary artery bypass grafting, it is used to establish cardiopulmonary bypass. Also, "Contrical" is used to prevent blood loss and reduce the amount of blood during transfusion.
Dosage, instructions for "Contrikal"
The drug is administered jet intravenously (maximum speed - five milliliters per minute) or in a dropper (drip).
The contents of one vial must be dissolved in two milliliters of an isotonic sodium chloride solution. In case of bleeding, the initial dose is 300,000 ATPE. Then, every four hours, 140,000 ATPE is injected jet intravenously until hemostasis is normal. In acute pancreatitis - from 200,000 to 300,000 ATPE intravenously, then dropwise intravenously in the same dosage. Treatment is carried out up to normalizing the clinical picture of the disease, as well as the results of laboratory tests.
As a prophylaxis of pancreatitis after surgery, 200 000 ATPE is administered intravenously daily. In case of shock conditions, the drug is prescribed in the initial dosage, and then 140,000 streamly intravenously every four hours. When treating children, the drug is prescribed in a dosage of 14,000 ATPE per kilogram of weight per day. If it is necessary to replace analogues of "Contrikal" should be prescribed by a doctor.
Side effects
The drug "Contrical" is able to cause side effects from various systems and organs. Moreover, especially often (in comparison with other side effects), numerous variants of local and allergic reactions develop. Thus, the following conditions are side-effects of Contrikal:
- increased heart rate;
- pressure reduction;
- periodic nausea and vomiting;
- confused consciousness;
- hallucinations;
- increased concentration of creatinine in the blood;
- psychosis;
- local thrombophlebitis at the site of injection of a needle into a vein (red skin above the veins, they are painful and swollen);
