Ultra Magnus - Transformer cartoon character

Ultra Magnus is one of the most famous characters in the entire saga of cartoons and comics called Transformers. This guardian of order has always been in the service of good and tried to protect the planets from the influence of the Decepticons. It was this trait that made him such an interesting character. He appeared in many paintings, but always remained in his position.

Character and beliefs

Ultra Magnus is the rare case when an ordinary soldier does not want to become an officer. It is for this reason and because of an incredibly strong sense of responsibility that he always gets leadership positions. The autobot itself always says that it does not want to take on the burden of command, but will do everything possible to win the allies.

This robot also has innate kindness, which calls him to rush to the rescue of his comrades at any difficult moment. He repeatedly proved this with his decisive actions. Despite the fact that Magnus does not like to lead people forward, he manages to do this thanks to the initiative and ingenuity at a critical moment. He does not like to let his subordinates down, and all Autobots appreciate it.

First appearance

Ultra Magnus as a full-fledged character first appeared on the screen as the commander of a small outpost of robots on Earth. Some time later, the Decepticons with the Destroyer organized an assault on this place, but the talented commander managed to fight back and even partially save the city, although the material damage was quite significant. At this time, Optimus Prime was defeated by Galvatron (an improved Megatron). The leader of the Autobots before his death handed over the artifact โ€œLeadership Matrixโ€ to Magnus, who did not expect this. The Decepticons learned about this and concentrated all their forces on the destruction of the remnants of resistance.

The new leader managed to distract them for a while, but Galvatron caught up with them and arranged a fight inside the planet Junk. Transformers and Ultra Magnus fought in this place, but at the right moment the "Leadership Matrix" did not open in front of him. The confused robot was shot, but he did not die. He was returned to duty by the inhabitants of the planet, and he went to look for associates. It turned out that the relic was discovered by Rhodimes Prime, who managed to put the enemies to flight. He appointed Magnus the leader of his headquarters.

Role in other cartoons

Cartoons "Transformers" have dozens of all kinds of paintings that show one or another moment of confrontation between Autobots and Decepticons. Magnus often appeared in them and almost always held senior positions at strategic sites. In the famous series "Transformers: The Headmasters" he was given the key role of the commander of the defense of the Earth. He fought fiercely against evil robots and in an incredible battle with the Six-Charger he was mortally wounded, although he defeated the enemy. After his death, at the request of the leader of the Autobots on Cybertron, he was buried on Earth, which he loved and protected, and not in space, according to tradition.

In the animated film Transformers: Prime, he shows himself an officer with an old school. He studied under Optimus Prime, but has his own view of the war. For him, discipline and respect for subordination are the main qualities that a soldier should possess. Magnus is trying to show himself as an exemplary leader, and because of this, he has problems with his subordinates on the basis of liberties. In the battle with Predacing, his conflict with Wiljack almost cost both their lives.

Armament and weaknesses

Despite all the exemplary qualities, Ultra Magnus has its advantages and disadvantages in battle. The advantages include its weapons. In each of the series, he has a rather strong armament in the form of a rocket launcher of ion lasers or giant machine guns. He has the most powerful equipment in the series Transformers: Prime. Here he uses the main hammer Hammer Solus Prime, which was forged on Cybertron and adds a lot of strength to the owner. At a long distance, it beats with the help of two ionic blasters, and when moving it turns into a blue tractor.

Optimus Prime
Most interestingly, he has his own personal starship, where he stores large stockpiles of weapons. The cons of the robot include slowness, which is explained by its large size. In another cartoon, he focuses too much on discipline, and this makes it difficult to really assess the situation in battle.
