The drug "Jess": instructions, rules for admission

Among the large selection of contraceptives, one of the leading places is the drug "Jess". The instruction indicates that it is a hormonal combination drug designed to prevent an unwanted pregnancy, treat a painful premenstrual condition, acne.

If this medication is taken as a contraceptive, it is recommended to drink a tablet daily, starting from the first day of menstruation. The best effect is the drug "Jess", the instruction suggests that it is achieved if the tablets are taken at the same time.

The first 14 doses of the drug should be combined with non-hormonal agents. From day 21 to day 28, the medicine "Jess" is not taken, taking a break for menstrual bleeding. Instead of this drug, placebo can be used on such days. These pills are also included in the package.

They do not take a break in taking the drug. If the course was started not on the first day of the cycle, but at 5-6 (this is permissible), then a week along with the drug "Jess", the instruction warns about this, you will have to use barrier contraceptives.

What is the preparation "Jess" in terms of chemical composition? Its composition is simple, but effective. The active ingredients are included in the tablets: drospirenone 3 mg, ethinyl estradiol 20 mcg. As auxiliary components, corn starch, magnesium stearate, lactose, talc, iron, titanium dioxide, and some other chemicals were used.

Tablets are placed in blisters. Each contains 28 active Jess tablets and 4 placebo tablets.

A placebo consists of talc, titanium dioxide, and some other neutral constituents. Blisters with Jess tablets, instructions explain this, are sold in cardboard folding beds in the form of books. In each clamshell from 1 to 3 blisters.

Like absolutely any medicine, the drug "Jess" has a number of contraindications. Tablets are not recommended for:

  • thrombosis, pulmonary thromboembolism , myocardial infarction;
  • angina pectoris, stroke, other diseases developing against the background of cerebrovascular disorders;
  • migraine;
  • diabetes mellitus;
  • diseases associated with cerebrovascular accident or inflammation of the meninges;
  • renal and liver failure;
  • vaginal bleeding;
  • malignant neoplasms;
  • during pregnancy or lactation.

At the same time, for other categories of women, Jess tablets, the instructions cite statistics that are highly effective not only as a contraceptive, but as a drug that relieves premenstrual pain syndrome and improves skin quality. He fights acne very well.

All drugs have side effects, this is not a secret for either doctors or their patients. The drug "Jess", unfortunately, is no exception. Despite its effectiveness, it is still able to provoke unpleasant adverse reactions in a number of women. What kind of reactions are these? Possible appearance:

  • abdominal pain, upset stools, nausea;
  • sensations of “sand” in the eyes or burning sensations in women who use contact lenses;
  • decrease or, conversely, weight gain;
  • sudden mood swings;
  • headaches;
  • enhancing or attenuating libido;
  • engorgement, enlargement of the mammary glands, the appearance of secretions from them or the vagina;
  • urticaria.

Needless to say, at the first sign of an adverse reaction an urgent medical consultation is needed.

The contraceptive "Jess" is an effective drug. But the women who use it should remember that it does not protect against infection with sexually transmitted diseases, AIDS, hepatitis. Only condoms can protect against these diseases. Therefore, the use of this tool is recommended only with a permanent, well-tested partner, causing full confidence. During random connections, it is better to use condoms.

If, for some reason, the timely intake of the Jess pill was missed, it can be taken within the next 12 hours. However, the effectiveness of the contraceptive is reduced.
