Bit of history

Undoubtedly, this dish came to us recently in Russia, which is why many people consider it to be something outlandish, although very vain. Its name comes from the French word "kiss", which really cool describes a light, melting in your mouth sweetness.

Microwave Sweet Meringue

People cannot determine the exact place of origin of this dessert, so meringues have several homelands. One of these places is the town of Meiringen in Switzerland. This explains the second name, consonant with the city - "meringue".

Basically, meringues were baked in ovens, although it was quite difficult, as capricious protein peaks constantly fell and did not want to become lush and light. But this is all in the past, and today we will tell you how to bake meringues in the microwave!

Everywhere are good

If we start a conversation about meringue, then it is worth saying that it is beautiful not only in itself, but also in combination with other components. So, ordinary meringues can be found coated with chocolate or with some kind of berry flavor.

Meringue in the microwave

It is also considered the main ingredient in such grandiose desserts as Pavlova, where crispy meringues are combined with creamy cream and fresh fruits. This is just a small fraction of those places where you can add wonderful meringues, and most importantly, we do not have to spend all day on it, because there is a recipe for meringues in the microwave!

Essential Ingredients

This option is ideal for those people who do not have the opportunity to use a powerful blender or mixer, since here you will not need to whip anything.

How to cook meringues in the microwave

But since the cooking process is different from the classic, the ingredients themselves will be a little non-standard. Of the products you only need:

  • icing sugar - 250-300 g;
  • egg white - 1-2 pcs.

On this all the components end, which means that the time comes to prepare a delicious dessert.

First recipe: meringue in the microwave without whipping

Carefully separate the squirrels from the yolks by placing them in different containers.

Now in a different container, sift the powdered sugar, which can be prepared independently with the help of a coffee grinder, without leading to strong grinding into dust.

Pour egg white into a container with powder and begin to gently knead first with a fork, and then with your hands an elastic and smooth dough that does not stick to your hands.

Separate small balls from the resulting "dough", shape them and put them on a plate, while maintaining a sufficient distance between them. In addition, just in case, we spread a piece of baking paper on the bottom of the plate, which afterwards will facilitate the process of separating the meringues.

We put our dish with the blanks in the microwave for 2-3 minutes, depending on the power of your device. And if you don’t know how well your microwave works, then just do a few trial options, changing the size of the meringue blank, the power of the device, and the cooking time.

Well, that’s it, the meringue in the microwave is ready!

Timeless classic

But if you don’t want to waste your time on some “suspicious” recipes, then we will tell you how to cook meringues in a microwave with a berry flavor. Indeed, undoubtedly, this option will be much more interesting than the usual classical meringue.

Meringue in the microwave in 30 seconds

List of ingredients:

  • egg - 1 pc.;
  • icing sugar - 250-300 g;
  • ripe strawberries - 100-150 g.

In this case, you can safely replace strawberries with any other berry, the main thing is that it is not too watery. Otherwise, the total mass for meringues will turn out to be too liquid, and the finished dish may not bake properly.

Second recipe: Strawberry Meringue

In order not to lose too much time, immediately proceed to the preparation of this airy dessert:

  • We start in the same way as in the previous recipe, separating the protein from the yolk.
  • Then add the protein to the pre-sifted icing sugar, after which we mix everything thoroughly.
  • After thoroughly washing and drying the strawberries, add the berries to the total mass, and then grind it with a blender. Continuing to whip a homogeneous sweet strawberry mixture, bring it to "whitening", and then increase in volume several times.
  • Do not stop at this stage, but, on the contrary, you need to continue to thoroughly beat the mixture until stable peaks appear on the whisk. This is a sign that the mass is ready for baking.
  • We transfer the liquid meringue into a pastry bag with a nozzle, we precipitate several blanks on a plate lined with baking paper, and then cook for 1 minute at maximum microwave power.

You can already try this wonderful dessert, which, thanks to strawberries, has turned out with a delicious aroma and color!

Possible alternative

Of course, our super-fast meringue, cooked in a microwave in 30 seconds, has some drawbacks. For example, like most other sweets, it contains a lot of sugar, which can not be called a healthy product.

Meringue Ingredients

That is why ideas arise to replace the sweet component, and that is why in the end we will prepare meringues with sugar substitute in the microwave, especially since it is so simple! Have to take:

  • egg - 2 pcs.;
  • citric acid - 1 pinch;
  • sweetener - 5-6 tsp;
  • additives (coarse sea salt, vanillin, cinnamon and ground coffee) - optional.

The third recipe: meringue with sweetener

And again, we start cooking by separating the proteins. To facilitate further whipping, they can be well cooled in the refrigerator for about 10-15 minutes.

We begin to whip the chilled proteins, adding a little citric acid for stability.

We continue to whisk, and when the mass begins to thicken, you can add sweetener.

We thoroughly mix our entire mass obtained with a mixer and continue this process until stable peaks appear.

We line the plate for the microwave oven with baking paper, and then put the meringues portioned on it. If desired, you can sprinkle all the blanks with additives to add a dessert of unusual taste and aroma.

We put the meringues to bake in the microwave for 2-3 minutes at the highest power. You can experiment with your oven again and don’t try to bake all the meringues at once, it’s best to do several test cases with different power and time. And the one that you like most can be taken as a basis in the further preparation of homemade meringues.

Microwave Sweet Meringue

Well, here is our final, useful batch of sweet, magnificent and airy meringues ready. It turned out as it should be, so now no one will believe you that you prepared it yourself, in a few minutes, and even in the microwave!
