Candida clam. All about infection

What is candida clam? This is a viral infection that affects the skin of a person and manifests itself in the form of dermatoses. The disease is most often found in children, adults get sick less often, but have a risk of contracting sexually, then the genitals can become a place of dislocation of the rash.

How does infection happen?

The main method of infection is skin-to-skin contact. As already mentioned, the cause may be sexual intercourse with the infected person and any other close contact with the infected person, for example, shaking hands. Perhaps infection through the household way through various objects: dishes, linen, towels, door handles, toys.

What does a rash look like?

Candida clam manifests itself in the form of rashes in various areas of the skin. These are small bubbles, 5 to 7 millimeters in size, having a hemispherical shape and protruding slightly above the surface of the skin. The shades of the rash can vary, ranging from pale pink to burgundy. In some cases, they are almost transparent and have a glossy surface.

Inside each formation is a yellowish dense mass. If you press on the bubble from both sides, then this mass will begin to stand out from its center. In some cases, several entities can merge into one, resulting in a bubble with a diameter of about three centimeters.

The rash has the ability to become inflamed and redden, itching may appear, but it is impossible to comb the vesicles, this contributes to an even greater spread on the skin and leads to new formations.

In children, a candida mollusk appears on the arms, legs, face, neck, sometimes papules can be located on the eyelids.

Since in adults the main route of infection is through the sexual, rashes form on the lower abdomen, on the inner thighs, genitalia, pubis, around the anus and on the buttocks. In men, the formation of papules on the penis is often observed.

Candidiasis with rashes on the genitals does not pose any danger. But if papules are found, it is better to be screened for other sexually transmitted diseases.

How to treat a clam?

Although the disease does not bring special pain and other unpleasant sensations, an appeal to a dermatologist is necessary.

When combing or damaging the vesicles, an additional infection is possible, which will lead to inflammation. And if you start the disease, then the rash will spread throughout the body.

The main treatment for candidal mollusk is the removal of papules and the appointment of antiviral drugs. Removal is performed by a dermatologist in several ways. Each formation is carefully opened, scraped and cauterized with a solution of iodine. This is a rather painful procedure, but there is another method of disposal - using a laser.

Laser removal is considered a more aesthetic and effective way. It is used to remove the mollusk from the face or other exposed parts of the body. Tissues after removal are not disturbed, the healing process is much faster.

After removal, it is necessary to lubricate the appearance of the rash with iodine solution for four days. The mollusk is prone to relapse and after removal may appear again, so it is better to lubricate the wounds with antiviral agents.

Prevention:

- processing of all things of the patient with disinfectants;

- Avoid intimate relationships with the infected;

- Do not touch or try to get rid of papules on your own, this will lead to even greater spread;

- cover the places where the rash appears with clothing or a mask, thus reducing the risk of transmission.

- The main method of combating infection is compliance with basic hygiene rules. As they say, cleanliness is the key to health!
