History
The Satire Theater (Moscow) was opened in the fall of 1924. Its first room was the basement of a house in Bolshoi Gnezdinsky Lane. Previously, there was a cabaret "Bat". The new theater was headed by David Gutman. He had a huge experience in directing. The repertoire included mainly satirical reviews of the spite of the day. Episodes were replaced by dances, couplets and interludes.
In the 30s of the 20th century, the theater moved to another building. It is located on Sadovo-Triumfalnaya street. At the same time, the chief director changed. D. Gutman was replaced by N. Gorchakov, a student of Konstantin Sergeyevich Stanislavsky. The repertoire of the theater has changed. The basis of it was vaudevilles and comedies.
In the mid-40s. the academic theater of satire moved to the premises on Malaya Bronnaya.
In 1957, V. Pluchek became the main director. His productions were a great success with the viewer.
In 1963, the theater temporarily moved to the building where Romen is located today. But as the popularity of Moscow satire was growing, the auditorium was required large. In 1964, the theater of satire received at its disposal the building of the former equestrian circus of the Nikitin brothers. Here and "lives" to this day.

Because of these tragic events, thirteen performances had to be excluded from the repertoire. But this did not affect the audience love. The audience continued to go to performances. "Suitcase"
