Over the past 10-15 years, viewers have seen a huge number of detective series. Stories about mysterious crimes and the process of solving them became incredibly popular, so the ABC channel, among others, in 2011 announced the release of the new series “Body Investigation”. Actors and roles written by screenwriter Christopher Murphy have appealed to fans of the genre around the world.

During the pilot episode, 14 million viewers gathered at the screens, which was one of the most successful launches on ABC over the past six years. Interestingly, in Russia, “Investigation into the Body” began to show two months earlier than the premiere in the United States.

Plot

After the accident, the neurosurgeon Megan Hunt was unable to fully recover, so during one of the most complicated operations, one of her patients died through her fault. The tragic event affected not only her career, but also her personal life. Hunt's spouse filed for divorce and secured custody of his teenage daughter Lacey.

Megan found a different use for her unique abilities. She got a job as a forensic expert. It turned out to be much easier for the doctor to work with dead people, but sometimes he still had to communicate with colleagues who considered Hunt an incredible specialist with an unbearable character.

Dana Delaney

Actors “Investigation in the body” should have a good understanding of human anatomy. The most difficult thing was Dana Delaney, who played the role of Dr. Megan Hunt.

The talented actress became famous thanks to the series “China Beach”. Her character - Lieutenant Colin McMurphy - brought not only recognition from the audience and critics, but also two Emmy Awards.

After the completion of the project, Delaney actively starred in films and appeared as a guest star in several TV shows. In 2007, Catherine Mayfair and “Desperate Housewives” again reminded of the abilities of the actress, but for the sake of the main role in the medical drama “Body Investigation” she left the popular series.

Fans of science fiction series, most likely, recognized the American actress thanks to the project “Star Trek: Voyager” and the character “Seventh of Nine” (Seventh). In addition, Jerry Ryan starred in the TV series Shark, Impact, Law and Order: Special Corps.

Fans of the series hoped for a romance between Megan and Peter, but actor Nicholas Bishop had to leave the project due to creative differences.

Hope for happiness in the personal life of the heroine of Dana Delaney appeared in the third season, when detective Tommy Sullivan appeared on the horizon.

Dr. Hunt met this man twenty years ago, and now he has moved from New York to Philadelphia and is trying to wake up his old feelings. By the way, Mark Valley, who played the role of the courageous Sullivan, has repeatedly worked with Delaney on the set. Criticism

The main characters in detective stories are most often men - Richard Castle (“Castle”), Dr. Lightman (“Lie to Me”), Patrick Jane (“The Mentalist”). It is not surprising that it was the drama with Dana Delaney that aroused the interest of the audience.

Interesting investigations and the complex relationships of the heroes - at first glance, the actors of the series “Body Investigation” did not show us anything original. However, in the center of the plot, the scriptwriter decided to put Megan Hunt - a woman with outstanding abilities and a complex character.

So, in comparison with typical detectives, “Investigations in the Body” showed a significant advantage, but picky critics did not calm down. Due to the medical theme, the project desperately resembled the famous “House Doctor”, which the majority of viewers recognized as the best thanks to the unusual team of Gregory House.

Unfortunately, the actors “Body Investigation” and their characters were invisible against the background of Megan Hunt. Cast is constantly changing, and the stories of minor heroes did not cause much interest. The development of the plot stopped, and the project had to be closed after three seasons.
