The drug "Gliformin 1000", the price of which is about 100 rubles, belongs to the category of hypoglycemic agents for oral administration. The drug slows down gluconeogenesis in the liver, reduces glucose absorption from the intestines, increases its peripheral utilization, and increases insulin sensitivity in tissues. The medicine does not affect the level of LDL and triglycerides, normalizes or reduces weight. The medication has fibrinolytic activity due to inhibition of an inhibitor of an activator of tissue plasminogen. After application, the maximum concentration is observed after 2-2.5 hours. Bioavailability after taking the usual dose is 50-60%. Protein binding is virtually non-existent. The drug is found in the kidneys, liver, salivary glands. The drug is excreted in unchanged form with urine.

The drug "Glyformin" recommends the use of the drug for the second type of diabetes mellitus in case of ineffective diet therapy and sulfonylurea preparations, for the first type of diabetes, the drug is indicated as an addition to insulin treatment.
Contraindications
Glyformin is not recommended (the instructions for use indicate this) for pathologies of the kidney system, intolerance, and disorders of the hepatic function of a pronounced type.
