"Still life" by Picasso and other works

One of the greatest artists in the whole world is Pablo Picasso. His work is admired not only by connoisseurs of painting, but also by people who are simply connoisseurs of beauty. The artist's paintings inspire a deep sense and idea. For example, "Still Life" by Picasso. I want to look at it again and again ... Nowadays, they have fabulous prices. It is not surprising that these paintings are the most popular among the kidnappers.

The life of a great artist

Pablo Picasso was born in Malaga (Spain), October 25, 1881. He is one of the founders of the direction in painting - cubism. Picasso is a Spanish artist, although he is considered French, since he lived almost his whole life in France. He was not only a painter. Pablo Picasso also worked in ceramics, sculpture, graphics and design. He had a huge number of followers. He made a great contribution to the development of various areas of fine art, painting in particular. In his entire life he has created about 20 thousand works.

He studied art in Madrid, at the Royal Academy of San Fernando. Later, the artist moved to Paris. Life was difficult there, and he originally lived in Bateau Lavoir. This is the famous Montmartre hostel. But nothing prevented him from developing and looking for his direction.

Even during the war, he continued his work. In 1944, Pablo Picasso became a member of the Communist Party in France. In 1945, he met a girl named Francoise Gilo. She became one of the artist’s many lovers, but greatly influenced his work.

Pablo Picasso died on April 8, 1973, in Mougins.

Picasso Works

Each period of Pablo's life was reflected in his canvases. The “Blue” period in the artist’s work is considered to be the years 1901-1904. Life at that time was not easy for him, and his paintings were filled with the theme of poverty, death and sadness. They were dominated by blue tones ("Woman with a bun of hair", "Date").

In the “pink” period of Picasso reflected the move to Paris, his work is filled with more pink shades. The circus and the theater influenced this (“Girl on the Ball”, “Acrobat Family with the Monkey”).

"Girl on the Ball"

Next was cubism, the founder of which is considered to be Picasso himself. Everything natural was rejected in it and transformed into blocks of geometric shapes (“Factory in Horta de Ebro”, “Avignon Maidens”).

Since 1925, Picasso begins a difficult period of surrealism. It is permeated with an atmosphere of psychedelics, hallucinations, hysteria ("Sitting Bather", "Dance").

In wartime, the main theme of his paintings was pacifism ("Dove of Peace"). Also bitterness, anxiety and gloom (“Crying Woman”, “Morning Serenade”).

And only after the war, family life and the birth of two children became the main theme of his work ("Joy of Life").

"Still Life" by Picasso

Indeed, this talented artist has a lot of brilliant works. But I want to focus on the picture of Pablo Picasso "Still Life" 1945. In fact, it was called Leek, Skull and Peaches. At that time, this was not the only work of such a plan.

Painting "Still Life"

Picasso's Still Life painting was painted in the last year of the war, it has a lot of blue and lilac colors, but the skull is distinguished by its golden color. The artist at the edges lightened the canvas, which is similar to the sun's rays. This symbolized the end of the war, a peaceful future, where there is no place for skulls, but only still lifes.
