Beautiful, well-groomed hands are the dream of many women. But what if the skin of the hands is larger than the skin of the face and body, is influenced by a variety of negative factors: household chemicals, hard water, contrasting effects of temperatures, and if you add vitamin deficiency, fungal diseases and age-related changes, it becomes clear - this is the most unprotected place on our body. And if literally all women try to care for the skin of the face (to the best of their abilities, of course), then such zeal is usually not observed in hand skin care. But in vain, because if it is not the person who gives age, then hands will do it with success. In addition, a change in the condition of the skin on the hands can signal the presence of certain diseases in the body.
One of the problems is cracks in the fingers, especially in places where the fingers are bent. They are very painful, can bleed and do not heal for a long time due to permanent injury. In this case, a non-healing wound is at risk of infection, and a seemingly harmless crack can turn into a rotting and constantly wetting wound. In order to choose the right treatment, you should identify the cause of the phenomenon.
Fissures on the fingers: causes
The causes of cracks, as a rule, are divided into internal and external.
The following factors can be attributed to internal:
- allergy;
- fungal infection;
- endocrine disorders;
- eczema;
- avitaminosis;
- hormonal disbalance.
In these cases, cracks appear on the fingers, on the tips, between the fingers and on the palms. Itself, of course, is difficult to determine the cause of the cracks, so it is better to seek the advice of a dermatologist.
External factors:
- the influence of sunlight;
- prolonged and frequent contact with water;
- contacts with chemical reagents;
- sudden changes in temperature and humidity.
These reasons may well lead to the fact that the skin will dry and crack. You should also consider the time of year - in winter, as a rule, the likelihood of cracking increases.
Fissures on the fingers: treatment
If the influence of external stimuli on the appearance of cracks is not in doubt, then it is possible to avoid, or at least reduce the risk, by limiting contact with these stimuli. When washing, cleaning, washing dishes, it is advisable to use gloves. Hand washing is recommended with a mild soap, for example, for children. You need to accustom yourself to daily moisturizing of the skin of the hands, since hydration reduces the risk of cracking, and also contributes to the faster healing of small cracks and wounds.
Shallow and rarely cracked fingers can be treated home ways. Potato broth will help in this case. For this, 1 tbsp. a spoonful of starch and 2 tbsp. tablespoons of vegetable oil add to 500 ml of broth, hold hands in it for 13-15 minutes, then wash and dry.
Another recipe: mix water and milk in equal proportions, add a few drops of glycerin, 1.5-2 tbsp. tablespoons of starch and mix thoroughly. Keep hands in this solution for 7-10 minutes. This recipe helps get rid of even deep cracks.
Finger cracks (and generally on hand) can be cured with pine nut oil. To do this, wrap your hands with linen cloth pre-moistened with warmed butter of these nuts.
A very simple way: apply a freshly grated cucumber to the damaged areas. They also work well on the skin of the hands of the bath with oatmeal.
Deep and regularly appearing cracks in the hands that do not heal for a long time and cause discomfort, it is necessary to show the doctor who can assess the situation and, if necessary, take a scraping for analysis. Such cracks can be caused by an infection or fungus, so they will have to be treated with special medicines and ointments prescribed by your doctor. Self-medication in this case can not only be ineffective, but also cause considerable harm.
