9. “Modified carbon”
One of the most anticipated premieres of this year has also been released on the Netflix platform. This is the sci-fi series Modified Carbon, which is included in all ratings of the new series.
The events of this tape unfold in the 27th century, when the consciousness of people is stored on special media. When necessary, they are loaded into human bodies, which are now considered solely as vessels for carrying them. As a result, a whole class of centenarians is formed, who find an additional way to copy their consciousness to backup media.
At the center of the story is the bloodthirsty mercenary Takeshi Kovacs, whose original body was killed two and a half centuries ago. He is the only soldier who survived the rebellion against the new world order. 10. The Terror
The first season of the AMC channel series consisted of only 10 episodes. This is a dramatic thriller based on the eponymous novel by Dan Simmons. The name should not mislead you - events do not develop today, but in the 19th century.
In the courtyard of 1845, when two British ships set off in search of the Northwest Passage through the Arctic. Their names are Erebus and Terror. After some time, the ships get stuck in the ice, and their crew members have to deal with diseases, harsh environmental conditions, lack of food, as well as with a certain hostile force, which from time to time appears in the form of a large polar bear.
It is noteworthy that the series is based on real events. We are talking about the polar expedition of the British explorer John Franklin, who died in the ice of the Arctic.
11. “House arrest”
Another successful domestic project is the television series Home Arrest, which aired on TNT. Its creator, Semyon Slepakov, told a hilarious story about the mayor of the fictional city of Sineoozersk, Arkady Anikeev, who was detained while receiving a bribe.
By court order, he is sent under house arrest at the place of registration. So he finds himself in a communal apartment in which he spent his childhood. He is immediately abandoned by his wife, on whom all the property is recorded, while in the communal apartment, the mayor encounters his childhood friend Ivan Samsonov, who mocked him all the time while they lived together. Forgetting the old disagreements, Anikeev decides to make Samsonov a new mayor to help him get out.
The main roles in the film were played by Pavel Derevyanko, Alexander Robak, Sergey Burunov, Vladimir Simonov, Roman Madyanov, Gosha Kutsenko, Anatoly Kot, Dmitry Astrakhan, Svetlana Khodchenkova, Lev Leschenko, Alexander Bashirov. Yegor Baranov became the director of the pilot series, and all the rest was shot by Pyotr Buslov.
Field shooting took place in Yaroslavl, and a pavilion with a communal apartment was specially built in Podolsk.
