There are many places in Moscow where you can listen to good music and relax. One of them was created by the outstanding musician Pavel Slobodkin. The center, named after him, works in the very center of the capital and has been attracting the attention of native Muscovites and visitors for several years. It regularly hosts performances by domestic stars of the classical stage and pop.
Who is Pavel Slobodkin
The name of Pavel Slobodkin is better known to representatives of the older generation. He was born on Victory Day - May 9, 1945. In 1948, the boy began to take music lessons. He learned to play the piano.
Already in 1962, Slobodkin became the head of the pop studio. At that time he was not yet twenty, but he was already one of the most promising musicians of our time. At the age of 20, Slobodkin began working for an organization that later became known as the Moskontsert. He acted as a conductor and leader of the orchestra. At that time, working in such a position was very prestigious, since the masters of the national stage rose on the same stage with Pavel.

But Slobodkin became the most famous in 1966. Then he founded the first in the USSR VIA "Funny Guys." This name is still widely known, as contemporary artists release cover versions of the ageless hits of this collective. During this period, he was faced with censorship, which for a long time did not miss VIA plastics. The fact is that the musicians took an example from the Western Beatles group, which at that time was banned in the USSR. In the seventies, the ensemble became famous for victories at international festivals. It was with this VIA that the young Alla Pugacheva acted. Later, “Funny Guys” toured Germany and performed in the framework of the Olympic Games held in Moscow (Pavel Slobodkin was the director of the cultural program of this event).
The history of the creation of the Slobodkin Center
By 2003, one of the most famous and significant figures on the national stage was Pavel Slobodkin. He decided to establish a center to promote quality music among the population. Work on this project began not one, but in collaboration with Professor Leonid Nikolayev - a teacher at the Moscow Conservatory named after P.I. Tchaikovsky.
The creation of a chamber orchestra is the first thing that Pavel Slobodkin did after the opening of the cultural institution. The center was created not only for working with the public, it provided an opportunity for gifted musicians to perform in front of the public. The institution is not limited to just one hall for performances. With him, a professional recording studio was opened, in which one of the best equipment in Europe stands. In particular, Grammy-winner Yuri Bashmet created his disc in this studio.
Work with the younger generation
Performances for children are one of the priority areas. That is exactly what Pavel Slobodkin believes. The center often opens its doors specifically for young listeners. Only in the first half of 2017, several dozen concerts were planned for the younger generation. Both classical works and modern musical tales were performed. There are programs for the whole family that even the busiest parents can fall into. We are talking about developing areas: "Night of Music" and "Night of the Theater."

To educate young spectators, the Pavel Slobodkin Center has several directions at once. His address is known to many Moscow parents who take their children to Arbat so that they get to know both the composers and the orchestra. A great advantage of this cultural institution is that it is possible to purchase a season ticket for it, as well as get to charity performances for children. Traditionally, they give tickets to children of large or low-income families and orphans. Schoolchildren are often invited to concerts; children are attracted to the cultural program of the Center. It is difficult to get to performances during the New Year holidays, as many families tend to have a cultural rest with their children at this time.
Visitors reviews
Many visitors and musicians praise the Pavel Slobodkin Center. The layout of the hall in it is thought out to the smallest detail, which allows not only visitors to easily find their place, but also creates excellent acoustics.
Musicians believe that this Center is one of the best in Europe. The hall is made with love and conscience, which is also noted by the audience. Pavel Slobodkin put all his experience into his creation. He personally supervised the creation of the Center.
Visitors did not find any flaws in this establishment. Even skeptics and people who are cool about classical music fell in love with the Pavel Slobodkin Center. The photo of the hall conveys the comfort that prevails in the room. Comfortable chairs and calm shades in the interior allow you to enjoy the musicians playing without inconvenience.
