The main component of the Pharinogsept tablets is ambazon (in the form of ambazon monohydrate). This dark brown crystalline substance , poorly soluble in water, is an effective antiseptic. Ambazon is active against pathogenic bacteria that cause the development of infectious diseases of the upper respiratory tract and oral cavity: hemolytic staphylococcus, streptococcus, pneumococcus. Its use does not adversely affect the intestinal microflora.
In addition to ambazone, Faringosept tablets (the instruction lists all their components) contain auxiliary substances: polyvidone, magnesium stearate (emulsifying additive), cocoa, flavorings, as well as sucrose and lactose. The content of the latter components in it may be important for patients with diabetes mellitus and those who are diagnosed with lactose intolerance. All components of the drug "Faringosept", the composition of which must be studied before use, in the presence of individual intolerance can cause an allergic reaction.
Faringosept tablets are dark brown in color, they can be without additives or with a lemon flavor. Each of them contains 10 mg of the active substance - Ambazon monohydrate. An adult dose of the drug is four to five tablets per day, children's (for babies from three to seven years) - three tablets. “Faringosept” - this instruction emphasizes - must be kept in the mouth until completely absorbed (due to the fact that ambazon is poorly soluble in water, this is a rather lengthy process). This should be done no earlier than 15-30 minutes after eating, after which it is advisable not to eat or drink for three hours. Taking the drug inside the therapeutic effect will not bring.
Indications for taking "Faringosept" tablets are, first of all, stomatitis - acute infectious lesions of the oral mucosa. In dental practice, it is used in the treatment of gingivitis - inflammatory diseases of the gums, the occurrence of which is provoked by a violation of oral hygiene. For preventive purposes, it is used after tooth extraction and other surgical interventions in the oral cavity.
The use of the drug “Faringosept” (the instruction lists all the indications for its use) gives a good result in the symptomatic treatment of acute pharyngitis (inflammation of the posterior pharyngeal wall) of unspecified etiology. Reviews say that it helps to quickly cope with the manifestations of this disease - pain and inflammation. The pain after its resorption recedes for several hours, and by using Faringosept at the very beginning of the disease, its development can be completely avoided. This drug helps to quickly get rid of the symptoms of exacerbation of chronic tonsillitis and facilitates the course of the acute form of the disease (agranulocytic tonsillitis). Meanwhile, some reviews indicate an almost complete absence of the effect of treatment with Faringosept. Of course, it is problematic to cure tonsillitis or severe stomatitis by resolving these tablets - in this case, this drug can only be used as an adjuvant.
To date, there is no information about the negative interaction with other medicinal substances of the dissolving tablets Faringosept - the instruction emphasizes this. Not recorded cases of overdose. However, do not on your own initiative increase the dose of this drug: as indicated in the annotation, this does not improve the effect of the drug. Its optimal concentration in the oral cavity (in saliva and on the surface of the mucosa) is reached already on the third day, and to maintain it, it is enough to dissolve 3-5 tablets of the drug per day.
For the treatment of children under three years old, do not use Faringosept. Contraindications to its use are few, but include the early age of the patient. The duration of the drug is usually five days - this is enough to alleviate the symptoms of the disease.
