The birthplace of the famous musician is Kharkov. Here on October 16, 1955, a boy appeared in a rather poor family, whose parents were accountants. Teachers, professors of the Leningrad Conservatory B. Arapov and B. Tishchenko, who taught him the composition and instrumentation class, helped Leonid Desyatnikov become a famous musician.
But at first there was a difficult childhood in an ordinary Soviet school in Kharkov among the usual punks at that time. Due to the fact that he was a weak child, he could not take part in boyish games and very early realized that he was somehow inferior, he understood that he was different from others. And only when he entered the music school, which worked at the Kharkov Conservatory, found his circle of friends, where he was understood. Already here he found himself, his goal in life, his own path, and walked along it without turning.
After the Kharkov music boarding school, which Desyatnikov graduated in 1973, there was the Leningrad Conservatory (1978).
