In outline

Even when it comes to an alcoholic beverage, everything is not as simple as it might seem at first glance, especially when it is Budweiser beer. The manufacturer, or rather, its manufacturers, which are located in different hemispheres of the earth (Czech Republic and the USA), named their product the same, which, in turn, complicates our task a little. In principle, there is not much difference between their tastes, as the recipes for both options are based on Czech brewing technology. They differ only in hints of caramel, coffee and chocolate and the fact that American beer is light and Czech beer is dark.

Czech beer

Czech-made Budweiser Budvar is a bottled dark draft beer produced at the small Budejovice Budvar factory located in Ceske Budejovice. The peculiarity is not only the original taste, but also the extraordinary preparation, which makes the drink more delicate, and at the same time persistent, despite its ingredients and a rich opaque color. Beer "Budweiser" has an opaque coffee-black shade. A dry aroma with tangible notes of hops, sour berries and caramel. The taste balances between notes of barley malt, caramel and a bitter coffee and chocolate tint.

Cooking feature

The peculiarity of the Czech “Budweiser” is that it is brewed only on the basis of artesian water, which is located at a depth of more than three hundred meters. There are several wells on the territory of Budejovice Budvara, from which water is directly pumped into the brewery. According to legend, this water is the remainder of the lake since the ice age. In order for beer to get a delicate taste, it is aged for ninety days in oak barrels in cellars located at a depth of about ten to twelve meters.

American option

American-made Budweiser beer is one of the most popular bottled beers. It has been manufactured for several centuries, without losing its primary features. Its history began back in 1876 in a small town called St. Louis, Missouri. Private manufacturer Adolfus Bush, visiting Bohemia, decided to create Budweiser (beer) as an analogue of Bohemian. The name, as well as manufacturing traditions, were borrowed from Czech manufacturers, but despite this, the taste of the American version was significantly different from the Czech one. This led to the creation of a purely American camp. In the early twentieth century, “Budweiser” received the status of a nationwide beer, increasing annual production to 12 million decalitres, which was a record in the history of alcoholic beverages. In the 20-30 years of the twentieth century - during Prohibition - the production of a wonderful drink was almost stopped, but everything resumed immediately after the permission of the authorities.

Varieties

American-made Budweiser beer has six types:

  • Budweiser Select - low-calorie light beer with an alcohol level of only 4.3%;
  • Budweiser American Ale - 5.3 percent ale dark color;
  • Budweiser 4 - light beer, light version with a percentage of alcohol 4.0;
  • Bud Light - light beer, light version with a percentage of alcohol 4.0;
  • Bud Ice - ice light beer with an alcohol level of 5.5%;
  • Bud Dry is a light beer with an alcohol level of 5.5%.

To summarize

Budweiser beer

Despite the fact that drinks are made in different parts of the world, still American and Czech-made Budweiser beer has almost the same taste. The only difference is that in America it is divided into several varieties, while in the Czech Republic it exists in only one version. The original recipes were taken from a single source, in the same way as the preparation and aging technology was preserved. There is hardly a noticeable difference in shades. The American version, unlike the Czech one, does not have slightly tangible notes of caramel in its taste, and the color is completely different, only the ale resembles Budweiser Budvar in color. It is because of its color that the western version was called the "light camp".

What consumers say

Budweiser beer, the reviews of which we have analyzed, is one of the most sought-after alcoholic beverages in the world market. Those who have ever tried this drink, note its unusual taste and aroma. Most often they focus on the original combination of flavors of coffee, chocolate, caramel and hops. Light lager is celebrated as a fresher drink. There is no combination of taste shades of the Czech version in it, only el can partially compete with its European counterpart. Fans of Budweiser emphasize not only an interesting taste, but also an affordable price, despite the fact that it is a world-famous beer.
