Female contraception: candles

To date, you can highlight a huge number of the most diverse contraception, of which any woman can easily choose for herself the most suitable option. Among such funds, the so-called chemical contraceptives, which include contraceptive tampons, suppositories, sponges, tablets and creams, are especially distinguished.

The most popular female chemical contraception at the moment is candles. Several main types of this contraceptive are distinguished, differing in composition. In some, nonaxinalone is the basis, while in others the active substance is benzalkonium chloride. All these substances are aimed at destroying the sperm membrane, due to which their level of physical activity is significantly reduced. This leads to the fact that they do not get to the egg and its fertilization does not occur. It is worth noting the fact that the use of such contraceptives cannot guarantee 100% protection against unwanted pregnancy. Recent studies have shown that in about 20% of cases of using such a contraceptive in women, pregnancy occurred. The main reasons for this phenomenon may be improper use of the drug or non-compliance with the rules for its storage. Therefore, in order to use candles as a contraceptive as effective as possible, you must adhere to clear instructions.

It is known that female chemical contraception - suppositories, creams and much more - are acids that cannot be exposed to alkaline conditions. For example, the use of soap shortly before the introduction of suppositories is considered a very serious violation of such a rule, since this leads to a significant decrease in the effectiveness of these contraceptives. If you wish to observe personal hygiene before committing sexual intercourse, then it is quite enough to use plain warm water. You can also pick up a special neutral acid-base balance product.

Moreover, manufacturers whose main products are contraception (suppositories, pills and other drugs) very often illegally overestimate the validity periods of these drugs to attract as many buyers as possible. Therefore, we must first of all remember that, on average, candles cope with the task within 40 minutes from the moment of introduction. This means that with repeated sexual intercourse, it is necessary to introduce another candle.

From the above, we can say that for women who have an active sex life, contraceptive suppositories are not very suitable, since they do not completely prevent pregnancy. But at the same time they are suitable for those who can not use the intrauterine device and hormonal contraceptives.

Contraceptive suppositories not only inhibit the action of sperm, but also prevent the development of a number of different sexually transmitted diseases.

Like any other chemical contraception, suppositories have a certain effect on the natural flora of the female vagina. That is why they should not be used too often, as this leads to vaginal dysbiosis. Moreover, the use of contraceptive suppositories very often causes irritation of the vaginal mucosa, resulting in various allergic reactions or burning sensations.

Most women believe that the use of suppositories eliminates the element of spontaneity from sexual contact, as the instructions indicate that the drug must be administered some time before sexual intercourse, as it needs to be completely dissolved. Therefore, candles for contraception require partners to have a certain amount of patience, organization and discipline.

In addition, the cost of candles is often quite high, so not every woman can afford them.
