Imagine life without a computer today is quite difficult. This is an assistant in work and leisure, a great way to communicate, as well as a place to store a huge amount of important information.
Due to the fact that people spend more and more time at monitors, they have to
answer one and the same question about whether the impact of the computer on human health is so serious.
Electromagnetic radiation
The loudest opponents of working at a computer talked about the negative effects of electromagnetic radiation on the human body. A lot of copies were broken around this problem, but, more recently, this topic has ceased to be so relevant. Liquid crystal screens are not dangerous and do not have any serious impact on human health.
Vision Impact
Older models of monitors had another serious drawback - the image flickered. And this, in turn, caused an additional strain on the eyes.
Now we are free from flicker. But the effect of the computer on human health began to manifest itself as a problem of the so-called โdry eyeโ. Due to the fact that while reading text on the screen, we practically do not blink, the eye is slightly moistened and, as a result, dries out. A burning sensation appears, the cornea blushes.
This problem can be solved if the computer user does not forget to blink and from time to time to look at distant objects. This will help to relax the muscle of the eye, forced to keep it stationary for a long time.
Sedentary problems
These problems arose long before the first computers appeared . The effect on our entire body of a prolonged stay in a forced position cannot be positioned as the effect of a computer on human health.
Indeed, even before the computer age, from prolonged sitting there were problems with the spine, with pelvic organs, circulatory disorders in the lower extremities and, finally, with excess weight, due to lack of physical exertion.
These problems can also be solved if a person working at a computer does not forget to periodically change his position: to get up, walk around, make rotational movements with his head and hands. Bends and squats help a lot. Before you start, you should worry about equipping your workplace. A well-selected chair and table are needed for growth - this will ensure your long-term performance without the risk of getting sick.
The effect of the computer on the nervous system
The most serious effect of a computer on human health is manifested, perhaps, precisely in its effect on the nervous system.
This includes the dependence on computer games in the unstable psyche of adolescents, and the state of overstrain and mental fatigue, for those whose work is associated with constant sitting at the monitor. Such work forces a person to process a huge amount of information, and often, to make quick decisions, not giving time for rest and thought - this is precisely the harmful effect of a computer on a person. And this impact can be reduced only by remembering that not a single โtragedyโ that arose at the working moment is worth your health and strength!
The correct organization of labor, a change in the type of activity, the ability to be distracted by something pleasant - all this will make the impact of the computer on the human body not so dangerous for health.
