Gooseberries are a very unpretentious plant, and its berries are delicious. We harvest it every year, even in the most unfavorable. As a result of such productivity, housewives regularly have a bunch of concerns for processing berries to add billets from them to their bins. There are a lot of recipes , we will consider some of them, including gooseberry jam (through a minced meat grinder), emerald and royal.
Before us is the only berry that is taken in green, unripe, still solid. First, consider the first option, the simplest and fastest recipe. We will need the following ingredients: one kilogram of gooseberries, two oranges and one kilogram of sugar.
And now specifically about how to cook gooseberry jam. Carefully washed berries are passed through a meat grinder. Oranges also need to be washed, dried and cut into slices (while the seeds are removed), and then chopped using a meat grinder and put in a bowl with berries.
In the next step, add sugar, mix very carefully. We put on the stove and bring to a boil over medium heat. A very important question arises: "When we cook gooseberry jam, how much to cook it?" The process is very fast, 3-5 minutes is enough, and it is necessary to immediately remove from heat and put in jars previously sterilized. Then roll up, always turn upside down and wrap well. After cooling, the cans are removed for storage. Gooseberry jam (through the minced meat grinder) is ready!

Briefly dwell on the recipe for cooking royal jam. For it, we need five glasses of berries, which we need, as usual, to qualitatively wash, remove the stalks, cut and, using a hairpin, peel the seeds. Next, put them in a basin, sprinkle with vodka, shake it several times and remove for several hours in a cool place. In the meantime, boil the syrup: add three cups of granulated sugar to three quarters of a glass of water. We discard the berries in a colander, dip them in syrup and cook until fully cooked. After cooking, it is advisable to quickly cool.
Answering the question of how to make gooseberry jam, you can consider the recipe for making an emerald product from these delicious berries. The first paragraph is completely similar to the previous option. Next, take a handful of cherry leaves, throw in water, boil and pour the peeled berries with the resulting broth. We do not throw out the leaves. After cooling the berries set for 10-12 hours in a cold place. Drain the broth, take out the leaves, take two glasses of strained broth and seven glasses of sugar. Cook the syrup.
In the resulting syrup, put the berries and boil for no more than 15 minutes. At the same time, they should become green and transparent. A couple of minutes before readiness, add 10-12 fresh cherry leaves, which remain there. After cooking, the resulting product must be quickly cooled. It will be very beautiful green.
As we see, gooseberry jam (through a minced meat grinder) is prepared faster and easier. It should be so. Another very simple way.
We cut or puncture one kilogram of berries, while the seeds are not cleaned. To make them softer, blanch in hot water. Now sugar will be easier to penetrate. We cook the syrup at the rate of three quarters of a glass of water per kilogram of 200 grams of sugar. Dip the berries in the hot syrup and wait for complete cooling. Then - again on the stove and cook until tender. Readiness is determined drop by drop: if it does not spread, then the jam is ready. Adding to it one orange, passed entirely through a meat grinder, we get a new, original taste of the product. For information, large gooseberries are not recommended to be used, since it boils very unevenly.
Enjoy your meal!
