Jam is one of the traditional and, perhaps, the most beloved canned desserts. For its preparation, berries, fruits, and less often vegetables that are boiled with sugar are most often used. In winter, treasured jars are not ashamed to get guests at the arrival of the guests or sweeten them with homemade tea content. In addition, it makes excellent fillings for homemade bagels, pies and other pastries. However, if you love this sweetness and harvest it for the future every summer, then it is not surprising that standard recipes become boring, seem boring and banal. In this case, it's time to experiment, combining ordinary fruits with something exotic, for example, make plum jam with oranges. So, how to cook it?
Basic recipe without cooking
Plum (it is preferable to use varieties with a dark, intense color and a large amount of pulp) we take 1 kg. Thoroughly wash my bones and remove the seeds. Now they need to be scrolled through a meat grinder, chopped in a food processor or in a blender. It should be gruel. Next, take a couple of juicy oranges. Wash them too, cut into pieces together with the peel and remove the seeds, grind. Now you need to mix plums, oranges and add to them 1-1.5 kg of sugar. To prevent sugar grains from crunching on your teeth, it is best to beat the mixture until they are completely dissolved. This plum jam with oranges preserves all the vitamins and the natural taste of the fruit throughout the winter. It must be stored in jars previously fried in the oven under nylon or paper lids. The workpiece should be kept in the refrigerator or other cool place.
Recipe: Boiled Five Minute
My plums, peeling, but not chopped. To them should be added for each kilogram of fruit 300 g. granulated sugar, 0.5 l of water and two oranges. Citruses can be chopped or cut into small pieces, as you like, do not peel. We put the ingredients in a bowl or pan and heat over low heat, gradually bringing to a state where the liquid is about to boil. At the same time, plum jam with oranges requires constant monitoring, it should be carefully stirred and not allowed to boil. In this borderline state, it must be held for 5 minutes and removed from the fire. Now the brew needs to be laid out on prepared banks and rolled up. Ready containers should be wiped, turned upside down and wrapped in a blanket. In this state, it is better to keep the banks overnight until they cool completely.

Despite the fact that such a combination may seem strange at first glance, plum jam with oranges is very tasty. It is also worth noting its fresh and mouth-watering smell, and if you add a spoonful of such homemade sweetness to a glass of milk, you will get a gentle and pleasant cocktail. You can also add nuts or raisins to the standard ingredients, while obtaining new shades of taste. Or instead of (or together) oranges, try putting tangerines, their aroma nourishes the entire dessert. The mashed plum jam with oranges is a real storehouse of vitamins and an excellent tool for the treatment and prevention of winter colds. Just remember that you can’t boil it in either aluminum or copper utensils, as this results in oxidation of the products and ascorbic acid is completely destroyed. Citrus fruits and red plum jam will complement well, but a little more sugar may be needed when cooking such a treat. However, this is a matter of taste, sweet and sour preparations like many sweet tooth.
