Location

Often, nevus can be found on the scalp (in this case, it is penetrated by hair). The formation on the skin can be either single or cover the whole body - this depends solely on physiology. Nevus is a disease that can slowly progress throughout life. A small skin defect in a child often turns into a big nuisance by adulthood.

Can I delete it?

Papillomatous nevus is usually removed if there is a medical indication for this. This includes, first of all, its rapid growth. Most likely, the doctor will not mind if you express a desire to remove the nevus from the face (since it looks unaesthetic), from the neck and abdomen (in these places it is easy to injure it, for example, with a shirt collar or belt of trousers). However, keep in mind - before removing it is necessary to consult a dermatologist and oncologist. The same applies to moles and warts. After removal of the nevus, no traces should remain.

Options

There are several varieties of this procedure. As well as birthmarks, the nevus can be removed with a laser, using the radio wave method under local anesthesia. If the skin lesion is large, surgical excision is required. After the operation, the patient is stitched.

Electrocoagulation

This method is considered one of the most popular. The skin area is cauterized by high-frequency electric current. At the same time, the papilloma is dried and separated from the body, and not completely burned out. This allows you to examine the material and identify the causes of neoplasm.

Laser removal

Nevus is a type of papilloma that lends itself perfectly to laser action. This method has many advantages: firstly, you will not feel pain, secondly, you will be guaranteed complete sterility (after all, your doctor’s hands and instruments will not touch your skin) and, thirdly, the laser beam stimulates cell division, therefore, there will be no scars or scars on your skin.

Cryodestruction

Removal with liquid nitrogen is also considered a fairly effective procedure, although it takes much longer than the two previous options. After the skin area is frozen, after a while the tissue swells, then blisters appear. Only after a few weeks does the rejection of the nevus occur. If we take into account the period when the scar heals, the whole process takes about six months.
