But it is painting that can be considered the most ancient art. Even primitive people left their drawings on the walls of caves and rocks. Millennia have passed, and man is still trying to sketch his thoughts and feelings.
In painting, there are many currents and trends. But today we’ll talk about street -style drawing, and it’s called graffiti.
Graffiti style is a modern underground culture. Graffiti is a wall painting. Translated from Italian, this word means "scratch." People who draw graffiti are called writers, from the word "write" (English).
Graffiti began in the mid-seventies of the last century in New York. Children from poor neighborhoods began to paint the walls of gray houses with bright colors. Initially, they simply wrote their names. This idea appealed to many; over time, primitive inscriptions gave way to more complex drawings that used a large number of colors.
Graffiti style has long been considered illegal and even illegal art, as often writers left obscene inscriptions or spoiled the look of historic buildings. Graffiti style is the presentation of one’s moods and views to the world, and, as you know, everyone’s views and moods are different. Raiders were often raided. But this type of art has proved its right to exist and now it has many admirers and followers.
Modern graffiti style, like any art, carries a certain semantic load. Drawings are becoming more beautiful, drawing technique is becoming more complicated.
Over time, the flow of this street art was divided into many sub-styles, differing among themselves, mainly by the technique of performance.
Graffiti styles
The simplest style is called BUBLE LETTERS. In this drawing technique, letters are written in the form of bubbles (such to yourself paunchy). It looks very funny.
Another style is called FX STYLE. This is a very complex style. The letters are drawn in three-dimensional graphics and are so intertwined that it is often impossible to read the inscription.
And another very interesting technique is called WILD STYLE, which translates as "wild style." The inscriptions in this style are very beautiful and completely incomprehensible. Everything is so intertwined that it is impossible to understand where one letter begins and another ends. The colors used are very bright. The texts are accompanied by phantasmagoric drawings. It is brightness, intricacy, complexity and a certain unreadability that is a wild style of graffiti.
A self-respecting writer will never draw a drawing on a building of architectural value, and on a residential building in general. It is believed that you should not impose your worldview on others.
Whatever technique you use to draw graffiti: wild style or something simpler - before your drawings rise from the level of “Vasya was here” to the level of art, you will have to burn a lot of paper and colors. Only by working and improving will you be able to perpetuate your name on the wall as a great writer!
