Today, young artists (as well as their parents) have another task: to learn how to draw Easter. This is quite simple using the geometric shapes that make up Easter itself and the festive painted eggs!
But first, a little history
Easter in the Orthodox tradition is established in memory of the blessed Resurrection of Christ and is considered one of the most basic in the church calendar. It is not determined by a fixed date - it falls in April or May (calculated according to the lunar calendar).
When Jesus was crucified and buried near the place of execution, in a cave, on Sunday morning, Mary Magdalene and two other women came to his grave. They wanted to wash and anoint the body of Christ with incense, but they noticed that the tomb was empty! The women began to be perplexed, and then two husbands in sparkling robes appeared to them and said: “Why are you looking for the living among the dead?” They meant that Christ is Risen! This event is considered by all Christians to be the greatest, giving salvation to the whole human race, to the whole world. They say that if Christ is not Risen, then faith is in vain!
The surroundings of the holiday were also impressive. Midnight ringing (evangelism), priests in white, candles and chandeliers, crosses. Vespers, Matins, festive liturgy. After the service, the faithful congratulated each other, kissed three times, and “christened”. And then they exchanged eggs that were painted red (a symbol of the blood of Christ). On Easter, the conversation began after Lent. At the beginning - a family meal, without guests. And then Kulichi and Easter appeared on the table (or, as we used to say, “paski” - sweet pastries with cottage cheese and raisins, certainly consecrated in the church) framed by painted chicken eggs.
Step-by-step instruction
But finally, let’s get down to creativity. How to draw Easter with eggs? We use simple geometric shapes: oval, semicircle, rectangle. And also, we need: a sheet of paper, an eraser, a simple soft pencil or charcoal.
Step 1 In the middle of the sheet, draw a rectangle stretched up. That is, its height should be greater than the width.
Step 2 At the top of the rectangle we depict - so far schematically - a hat in the form of a semicircle.
Step 3 Below the perimeter of the figure, draw several ovals, these are future eggs.
Step 4 The whole resulting construction is on a special plate. We depict it in the form of an oval.

Colorize
Easter is light and bright. Therefore, it is necessary to colorize our drawing!
Soak the watercolor. Choose clear, unambiguous colors: blue, yellow, green. “Paint” the eggs in our drawing. How to draw Easter (more precisely - to paint)? Easter itself is light brown, the cap of glaze is white with multi-colored splashes. Do not be afraid to paint in watercolor over lines drawn with pencil or charcoal. They appear through the diluted paint, retaining the shape. On top of the pastries sprinkled with colored crumbs - do not forget to display it in the picture. The plate can be made wicker - it will be more believable and more beautiful. If you want, write under the picture “Happy Easter” or something like that - festive. For a postcard, select the appropriate sheet of paper. You can fold A4 in half so that you can write a personal congratulation inside. And outside - a picture!
Step 1 Let's start by sketching the basket. Draw a circle, then draw a line - curved - on one third of the circle. We schematically depict the upper handle at the basket.
Step 2 Now we draw the eggs inside the basket - almost regular ovals, slightly pointed on one side. Fill our basket with eggs. Dimensions are proportional. Quantity - to choose from.
Step 3 Draw the basket details. Let's make it wicker.
Step 4 We erase all excess lines with an eraser. Our neat and very clean basket is not finished yet.
Step 5 And now we color Easter eggs in festive bright colors. Everyone draws to their taste, but we recommend using pure light colors! The basket itself, as appropriate, is painted with light brown, dark brown and blue with shades. We draw shadows and reflections for greater credibility of the picture.
Step 6 We sign our resulting postcard. Outside - "Happy Easter", for example. And inside we come up with an individual congratulation for the person you love.
