Mucosat is a modern remedy intended for the treatment of the musculoskeletal system. Its active substance - chondroitin sodium sulfate - slows down the destruction of bone tissue. The same polysaccharide normalizes the exchange of phosphorus and potassium in the body, inhibits enzymes that destroy cartilage.
Injections and tablets of the Mukosat preparation, reviews of experts confirm this, not only stop the degeneration of tissues that make up the bones and joints, but even prevent their compression.
Mucosate, whether it is injections or tablets, it enhances the formation of glycosaminoglycans, increases the production of intraarticular fluid. Chondroitin can relieve inflammation, increase joint mobility, and remove pain. The Mukosat remedy, reviews of experts are united on this issue, and it does not allow fibrin plaques and blood clots to form in the bloodstream.
Chondroitin, when it is injected, is absorbed very quickly and within an hour reaches its maximum concentration, which slowly decreases over the course of 48 hours. The medicine is collected in cartilage. A quarter of an hour after the injection, chondroitin enters the synovial fluid, and from there it moves directly to the articular cartilage. In the cartilage, it accumulates as much as possible only after 48 hours.
The drug is prescribed for the treatment of a variety of diseases. Mucosat, the reviews of patients about which for the most part are very positive, is especially effective in such cases:
- in the treatment of degenerative or dystrophic changes in the joints, spine;
- in the treatment of arthrosis, osteoporosis;
- with fractures;
- with periodontopathy.
The drug is available in capsules and in the form of solutions for injection. If it is administered orally, then adults are usually recommended to take 0.75 mg for three weeks, and then reduce the dosage to half a gram twice a day.
The drug "Mukosat", the reviews of doctors are unanimous and here, prescribed for children up to a year, but only a quarter of a gram. With age, the dosage increases.
Doctors sometimes recommend injections of the Mucosat preparation. Patient reviews indicate that in this form it acts faster, but not all specialists agree with them.
Injections are prescribed 0.1 g, then increase the dose (for the fifth injection) to 0.2 g. Usually a course of 30 procedures is prescribed, unless the doctor has prescribed a different duration of treatment. After six months, the course of injections is recommended to be repeated.
With the introduction of the drug "Mukosata" or its variant, the means "Mukosat Neo", injection at the injection site may cause allergic reactions, rash, bruising. In such cases, the drug is canceled.
When prescribing treatment, the doctor takes into account that there is a group of people to whom the composition is contraindicated.
This group includes pregnant women, mothers during lactation, people with hypersensitivity to chondroitin. Children under 5 years of age are not prescribed injections.
It must be remembered that in complex therapy, when Mukosat is used together with coagulants and fibrinolytics, it is possible to increase or decrease blood coagulability. For this reason, treatment should be under the systematic supervision of a specialist, taking into account coagulation indicators.
The drug is good in that it practically does not cause adverse reactions, especially severe ones. As mentioned above, it can only cause a slight allergy, which disappears after drug withdrawal.
The Chondroxide ointment, the most famous in our country, can be considered an analogue of the Mukosat preparation. However, different dosage forms have different effects, so only a doctor can talk about the advisability of replacing Mucosate with Chondroxide.
Other analogues, such as Arthrin, Khonsurid, Arthra Chondroitin, Chondrogart, are also unacceptable to use on their own. Only a doctor can decide which medicine will have the best effect.
