Sinestrol during pregnancy: features of the use of the drug

Sinestrol is a hormonal drug that stimulates the absorption of glucose, increases insulin sensitivity. It is also designed to increase the level of alpha proteins in blood cells.

Sinestrol during pregnancy is very often prescribed only when it is necessary to interrupt it. Many doctors prescribe an injection of this drug if a woman wants to cause a miscarriage.

In general, this medication is used to treat ovarian dysfunction, infertility and vaginitis. Sinestrol, the indications for the use of which is very extensive, is indicated for genital hypoplasia, mild labor, as well as breast cancer, prostate cancer and its hypertrophy. Sometimes, when there is a need to suppress lactation, this drug is also prescribed.

As a rule, the medicine is administered intramuscularly. Its daily dose should not exceed 0.003 g, and a single dose - 0.002 g. If malignant tumors are treated with sinestrol, the dosage changes: daily - 0.06 g, and a single - 0.1 g.

The purpose of this drug is carried out only by a specialist. Moreover, the doctor must monitor the treatment process constantly. Before using the drug, it must be heated to 30-38 degrees. If precipitation of crystals is observed, it is necessary to conduct heating in a water bath until their complete dissolution occurs.

Sinestrol during pregnancy helps to stimulate the work of the uterus, since it is generally prescribed to stabilize menstruation. Therefore, in the initial stages, it causes bleeding, that is, a pregnancy failure. In the presence of uterine and genital bleeding, estrogen-dependent formations of a malignant nature, as well as with thrombophlebitis and thromboembolism, the use of this drug is strictly contraindicated.

Naturally, any drug has side effects. Sinestrol is no exception. Instructions for the use of this medication among the possible consequences call such problems:

  1. In women, libido increases, an increase in the mammary glands and an exacerbation of their sensitivity are observed, spotting vaginal discharge appears, as well as bleeding and amenorrhea.
  2. In men, libido is reduced, and breast tenderness and gynecomastia also develop.
  3. Often there is vomiting (very often during pregnancy, synestrol also causes a similar symptom), migraine, anorexia, flatulence, persistent headaches, hepatitis, diarrhea and biliary colic.

As for the interaction with other drugs, during the simultaneous use of antiestrogen drugs and sinestrol, the first block receptors and weaken the effect of the hormone estrogen on the body.

If you use Sinestrol during pregnancy along with folic acid, then the risk of miscarriage increases significantly, because it enhances the effect of the drug. When this medicine is prescribed along with gestagenic drugs, the side effects of the former are significantly reduced.

In general, we note that sinestrol is prescribed to stabilize the menstrual cycle and alleviate the menopausal syndrome. In addition, the medication helps prevent osteoporosis.

If an overdose of the drug occurs, uterine bleeding, toxic liver damage, and peripheral edema can be observed. Blood begins to clot quickly. As for men, feminization begins to manifest themselves clearly (a decrease in the testicles, an increase in the mammary glands).

Remember that the use of drugs should be carried out only under the supervision of doctors. Only then can negative consequences be avoided
