Musician childhood
Due to the fact that his father was a soldier, the family moved to Germany. Sergey himself was born in the capital of Saxony, Dresden, in 1972. Later, they lived together in Siberia and only at the end of the 80s returned to Belarus. From childhood, Mikhalok Jr. began to participate in various creative contests. Sergei Mikhalok, whose biography began in the GDR, became famous in certain Belarusian circles. His teachers also noted the amazing ability of the boy to music in the absence of discipline. Despite this, he was a clear favorite of the teaching staff. As expected, he entered the University of Culture and Arts and graduated from it.
The creation of Lapis
In early 1990, Mikhalok became the founder of the cult group that is still famous in the countries of the former USSR - Lyapis Trubetskoy. The name of the team was given by the name of the hero "12 chairs". At first they played amateurly, then they began to participate in serious festivals. The turning point was the meeting of the group with the future director - Kolmykov. After that, they began to receive fees and go on tour in buses. At the same time, Sergei Mikhalok took up cooperation with the Bamboo Theater. At first, the cassettes of the group dispersed in a small edition. Everything changed after recording at the studio under the direction of Kravtsov, who advised expanding the group with several more musicians to improve the sound. Soon the band released their first album. The Belarusian public appreciated it very favorably, which was manifested during the presentation of awards at Belarusian rock performers contests. However, in the mid-90s, creativity fades.
Birth for the Russian public
The explosion of popularity comes for the Mikhalka group when its cassettes hit Russia. Sergei Mikhalok, whose biography becomes known to the public, at that time is the object of struggle of many studios. His new album was composed of old and new songs, receiving the famous name “You Threw”. CIS countries took it with enthusiasm. The team releases its first video for the song "Au", instantly soared in the charts. Then, without the participation of the Lapis, a disc with their remixes and archived recordings comes out. A new work, published later, rehabilitates the group in front of Belarusian fans. They are gaining a wider circle of admirers.
2000s
The beginning of a new century was not quite smooth for Lapis. Their new album did not receive wide public recognition, as the compositions began to have a fundamentally different sound. Although some critics called him the best of all albums of the decade.
Mikhalok Sergey Vladimirovich again became a VIP person in show business after the video for the song “Pigeons”, which received the widest rotation on MTV. Then the musicians decided to participate in the project "Children of the Sun", which promotes optimistic songs performed by both famous and new artists. The main directions of the group were reggae and "gypsy".
The Sochi video once again proved to listeners that Mikhalka’s talent is inexhaustible. A new round of popularity and global fame in the CIS encouraged musicians to write the next album "Youth", which became the most successful over the long years of the existence of the band.
Golden Eggs
In the mid-2000s, Sergei Mikhalok released a scandalous album, distinguished by its independent sound. The influence of reggae and ska-punk on the band’s work seems obvious. In addition, now Mikhalok also becomes the author of the soundtracks for the film "Men Do Not Cry." He announces that this type of creativity helps him to know himself from a new perspective. Therefore, later the self-titled album with music for series is also released.
Creative changes
The banner of the sharp change in the style of the group was the album "Capital". Now more and more obvious in their music is the social subtext. The clip has won many awards. In it, Sergey appeared in the image of a certain pseudo-Buddhist deity with a heart in the form of a pig. It reflects the destructive power of globalization.

The song "I Believe" was a breakthrough of "Lapis" in a musical career. Numerous viewers and listeners have declared this track the best for the last years of the group. Personality of Sergei Mikhalk
Mikhalok Sergey, whose growth is 172 centimeters, has recently changed greatly externally. In the early years of the group, it weighed almost 110 kg. He wore Hawaiian shirts with flowers, had a beer belly, which gave him a very funny look. Now, about the flabby appearance is out of the question. Even before the release of Golden Eggs, Sergei shaved his head baldly, speaking of cardinal changes in his personality. The desire for self-development led him forward. Indeed, Sergei Mikhalok before and after are completely different people. He goes in for sports, martial arts, goes to the gym, eats healthy food. According to his diet, the first 10-15 kg can be lost at home, counting meals according to its quality, not quantity. Mikhalkov says that man is what he eats. People-chips easily break and crumble.
The musician used to be known for his addiction to alcohol and drugs. Now he does not drink at all. And he remembers those distant drug connections as a nightmare.
When Sergey lost more than 20 kg, there was a need to begin to swing, as the body did not look very aesthetically pleasing. So began his long journey in bodybuilding. In the mid-2000s, Mikhalok became a recluse. He trained for a long time, rode a bicycle, jumped through a rope, wring out, pulled himself up. He believes that it is necessary to constantly improve in order to bring something useful to the masses. His example also benefited the rest of the group. Many began to go to boxing and other types of wrestling. Now the pursuit of a healthy lifestyle is an absolutely natural part of the collective’s existence.
Sergey Mikhalok: personal life
The first wife of Sergey was the soloist of the Mantana group Ales Berulava. However, the relationship came to naught due to the turbulent characters of the spouses. The second time Mikhalok married actress Svetlana Zelenkovskaya. Her mild nature and desire for a home, still maintain warm and good relations in their family.
Mikhalk has two sons - Pavel from his first marriage and Makar from his second. He believes that they are not obliged to continue the creative profession of his father, and the right to do what they themselves consider necessary.
The lead singer of the Lyapis Trubetskoy group is a difficult person with clear political views. Because of this, he repeatedly had problems with the authorities.
