How to make tiny canapé sandwiches? Cheese, sausage are laid out on bread - everything is very simple!

The word "canapes" combines many culinary dishes that can be served as a snack or dessert. All of them are decorative layering of products (a garnish is laid out on the base) of a small size, which can be eaten in one bite.

The name is translated from French as a sofa, that is, an analogy can be traced: as people sit on a sofa, so the side dish “sits” on bread. Canapes were previously served during a cocktail, so they were salty or spicy in order to encourage guests to drink more.

Crackers, small pieces of bread (traditionally stale white bread), toast or pastries from puff pastry can be a base for canapes. The base is cut into thin slices of various shapes. It can be circles, rings, squares, triangles and more. Supplement with delicious products: meat, cheeses, fish, caviar, foie gras, mashed potatoes, as well as canned or fresh fruits and vegetables. Slices of bread can be pre-cooked. The most common are tiny sandwiches - canapes cheese, sausages, which are complemented by finely chopped vegetables, green onions and herbs or olive (or truffle) oil.

Recipe 1

In this recipe, toasted slices of bread serve as the base for canapes. Cheese, sausage are part of the side dish. Required Products:

- 250 g of Polish sausage (it can be replaced with another sausage),

- ¼ cup chopped green onion,

- 450 g of tomato paste,

- 1 tablespoon finely chopped hot chili peppers,

- ½ teaspoon chopped dried oregano,

- 8 toasts from slices (1 cm thick) of French bread,

- Parmesan cheese, rubbed coarsely,

- 250 g of Monterey Jack cheese (you can replace it with Cheddar cheese), sliced ​​with thin plastic according to the size of the base,

- ¼ teaspoon of tea salt.

The sausage is cleaned, diced and fried until golden brown (the resulting liquid is drained). Add onions to the pan, fry until it becomes soft, but not golden. Add tomato paste, chili pepper, oregano, salt. Prepare the mixture for a few more minutes. They lay it out on slices of pre-toasted bread, generously sprinkled with grated Parmesan cheese. It is placed on a baking sheet and baked in the oven at high temperature for about three minutes. They take out, allow to cool slightly, cut each piece into four parts and cover with Monterey Jack cheese slices so that it does not melt. Ready canapes, cheese, sausages in which are rich in spicy tomato flavor and spices, are served.

Recipe 2

English mustard will spice up canapes with sausage. The following ingredients will be required:

- 6 slices of bread,

- English mustard

- 6 slices of cooked sausage,

- 100 g of grated Cheddar cheese,

- butter (optional).

Fry the bread in butter and cut each slice into four parts. All pieces of sausage are also cut into four parts. Preheat the grill in the oven. Slices of bread smeared with mustard and spread sausage on them, sprinkled with grated cheese. Place the canapes under the grill for a few minutes. Ready-to-eat canapes are served immediately. Cheese, sausage on each will be under a golden brown crust with bubbles.

Recipe 3

A light and simple snack for guests is a canapé with feta cheese! Essential Ingredients:

- 2 French baguettes (hard bread is more suitable) cut into slices about 5 mm thick;

- 450 g of feta cheese is finely chopped;

- 8 tomatoes, thinly sliced;

- 1 onion red onion thinly chopped;

- 2 tablespoons of olive oil;

- 24 leaves of basil.

Fry the baguette pieces in oil until golden brown. Feta cheese, tomatoes, red onions are laid out on each slice in layers , then sprinkled with olive oil. Served with fresh basil leaves.

A very simple recipe, only two ingredients are required. Bread is not needed for this recipe: the base is cheese, and the grape berries are a side dish. You can quickly make such canapes with Roquefort cheese and grapes. To do this, cut the cheese into cubes (in size they must be commensurate with the berries). A grape is put on a cube. Each piece of cheese and berry is strung on a skewer and served with red wine.
