As a child, our parents kept repeating to us: “Do not take anything in your mouth - there will be“ vobs ”. At the same time, we continued to carelessly lick toys, fingers, and, in general, everything within the radius of our own reach. For some, this way of exploring the outside world went without unpleasant consequences, but other children still experienced the “delights of wavoks” - aphthous stomatitis.
Aphthous stomatitis, the treatment of which previously consisted in covering ulcers with green, is now being treated more progressively.
Aphthous stomatitis, the causes of which have not yet been elucidated, is often associated with herpes, although it is not transmitted from a sick person to a healthy one. Representatives of the weaker sex under the age of forty suffer most often.
By the way, the disease can affect not only children - aphthous stomatitis in adults is also quite common. How to treat stomatitis in adults? Yes, with the same drugs as the kids. It is worth noting that adults carry it no less hard than children.
Although the exact causes are not clear, nevertheless, the factors that contribute to the onset of the disease are tracked and studied. These include microtraumas in the oral cavity, the use of products with high acidity, a family's propensity for such diseases, hormonal imbalance, and factors that weaken the general immunity.
Most often, patients who suffer from aphthous stomatitis note a low content of folic acid and a lack of iron, the presence of gastric infections and other factors. The disease can occur two to three times a year, depending on the body's defenses. For some people, such aphthae occur constantly. Aphthous stomatitis, the treatment and prevention of which does not give results, requires attention to the blood composition and the state of the immune system - perhaps the problem lies there.
The disease is mainly manifested by the presence of ulcers, which are scattered in the oral cavity. They can be both open - bright red, and with a whitish film on top. Aphthous stomatitis in the early days of the course of the disease brings the greatest discomfort in relation to eating - it is advisable to consume warm, sparing food, which does not cause discomfort.
Aphthae themselves rarely reach large sizes - usually they are up to one centimeter in diameter and pass in a week without leaving scars. If aphthae is large, then the healing process is delayed: they heal for several weeks and leave traces in the oral cavity.
Usually, when examined by a doctor, the disease is not in doubt. If additional complications are revealed during this, then a biopsy may be needed - analysis of tissue from the site of the lesion. Especially pay attention to those ulcers that do not heal for several weeks - they can be a sign of cancer.
Aphthous stomatitis, the treatment of which is prescribed by a doctor, does not require specific procedures. Everything can be done at home, and a doctor can be visited only after a week, when the sores go away. If the pain is very severe, the child is naughty, refuses to eat, then it is worth using oral painkillers, gels and rinses. You need to use them before meals and after meals, in addition to rinse your mouth several times during the day.
If you have aphthous stomatitis, the treatment will not be complete without further prevention. In order for a person to no longer get stomatitis, he must first adhere to the rules of personal hygiene, wash his hands after eating, do not eat dirty foods, conduct daily (at least) sanitation of the oral cavity. When chewing food, you need to chew as long and slow as possible - firstly, this is correct from the point of view of physiology, and secondly, it prevents the possibility of occlusion of the mucous membranes of the oral cavity, which can turn into aphthae. At the same time, this precaution does not eliminate the need to replenish the body with a complex of vitamins and minerals.
