The stomach is covered with a mucous membrane from the inside , its inflammation is called gastritis, which, in turn, is divided into acute and chronic. Unfortunately, gastritis is often observed in children. The acute form is very painful, the child's health is sharply deteriorating. But with treatment started on time, the disease recedes.
As for the chronic form, it is less severe, the symptoms are not so pronounced, and the child’s well-being only slightly worsens. However, the whole danger of the chronic form is that it accompanies a person throughout his life, it is very difficult to cure the disease. Therefore, if acute gastritis occurs in children, in no case should it be allowed to go into a chronic form.
Like other diseases, gastritis has its own causes. It is very important to analyze all the circumstances that led to the appearance of this disease.
Parents should carefully review the child’s lifestyle and, above all, his nutrition in order to be able to withstand this disease. The sooner the necessary measures are taken, the less harm will be done to the health of the child.
One of the most pronounced symptoms of the disease is stomach pain. Following this appears lethargy, apathy. The child becomes moody, inactive. The skin may also turn pale, and dark circles under the eyes may appear. Symptoms that may already be accompanied can be nausea, vomiting. All these changes should not be left without parental attention. Even if there are at least some doubts about the condition of the child, in any case you need to sound the alarm.
The treatment of gastritis in children directly depends on the causes of this disease. The effectiveness of treatment is determined by their complete elimination, otherwise everything may be repeated again.
If gastritis occurs in children, treatment and observation of the child is carried out directly by the attending physician. First of all, he will select an individual menu for the child, draw up a schedule of his nutrition, because one of the main conditions is eating at the same time. It is not permissible to give the child medication on his own, otherwise the course of the disease can be aggravated. For this reason, doctors prefer inpatient treatment.
Gastritis in children can most often be caused by malnutrition. After all, the digestive system in children has not yet fully strengthened and is not able to withstand the loads placed on it. But the worst thing is that sometimes a small child is allowed to eat foods that are not recommended even for adults (for example, all kinds of chips, soda, and much more). Also, children should never be given cookies with filling, sweets, chocolate. At least up to three years, you need to refrain from such sweets, because all this creates favorable conditions for the occurrence of gastritis.
Overeating can also contribute to the development of gastritis. Many parents are convinced that the more a child eats, the healthier it will be. However, they forget that constant overload of the stomach disrupts its work, leads to irritation of the mucosa, and subsequently to its inflammation. The result of all is the occurrence of gastritis.
There is a so-called infectious gastritis in children. Its occurrence is provoked by cutlery, toys, which are common to all in kindergarten.
Stressful situations can also cause gastritis. And the child has no less of them than the adult, only they are children, and not every adult notices them. Therefore, the psychological atmosphere is very important for a small person, and this applies not only to gastritis, but also to many other things, which is an obstacle to the normal and full development of our children.
