"Royal Weed": a fairy tale about Cinderella in a new way

There is one weed that rises above the rest, condescendingly glancing at undersized brethren. Moreover, its inflorescences possess such insidious prickly hooks that can cling to anything. And it is very difficult to pull them out of hair or wool.

This truly royal weed is burdock or burdock. Interesting fact: the inventor of the famous Velcro was inspired precisely by burdock spikes! That's right - the royal weed - calls himself one of the characters in the novel by Tatyana Garmash-Roffe. Thanks to this comparison, the work got its title. The author of the book “Royal Weed” Tatyana Garmash-Roffe works in the genre of psychological detective story. She is interested not so much in the crime story itself as in the relationship between the people who inhabit the pages of her works. Having married a Frenchman, back in the 90s she went home to her husband. It was there that she was able to fully surrender to creativity.

From hate to love

In 2010, director Igor Sternberg filmed several books of the writer at once, calling this series “Love and Hate”. It consists of 4 parts, in each “case” - 4 series.

Case number 2 is called the Royal Weed. The main characters of all these paintings are Alexei Kisanov and Alexander Kasyanov. Having met at the beginning of the series, a private detective and a well-known journalist went a difficult way from almost hate to love. The detective is investigating confusing matters, and Sasha is helping his fiance. The series "Royal Weed" (or rather, a mini-series) is dedicated to an unusual love story. At first it seems that the audience is presented with the next version of the already pretty well-worn story about Cinderella. The nondescript, not very self-monitoring saleswoman Antonina accidentally meets a very attractive buyer right at the workplace. Compliments, first timid dates, gifts ... So the plot begins.

Modern Galatea? ..

And everything would be fine, but yesterday's simpleton begins to suspect something was amiss. Favorite person obviously hides something. He doesn’t acquaint relatives and friends, he speaks casually about his company. Antonin turns to Alexandra for advice. The journalist wants to help her friend and shares her experiences with Alexei. Meanwhile, clouds gather over Tony’s happiness ... Someone might be attracted to this tape by an unexpected turn of the plot, turning the "fairy tale about Cinderella" literally upside down.

Author and Performers

“Royal Weed” is a film, first of all, worthy of viewing because of the actors involved in it. Aleksey Kisanov is played by Oleg Fomin, who has fallen in love with film fans already for one of his first roles (in the picture of the “perestroika” pore “My name is Arlekino”). Since then a lot of water has flowed, he successfully tries himself in directing and is actively filming. The role of his girlfriend was played by Anastasia Makeeva, a talented young artist, star of musicals and TV shows. The seducer of Kirill was played by Anton Khabarov, (also mainly a serial actor), Antonin was the daughter of actress Irina Shevchuk (the audience remembers her by the role of Rita Osyanina in the military drama “The Dawns Here Are Quiet”) by Alexander Afanasyev-Shevchuk.
