The famous Zapashny dynasty has existed for more than one hundred and twenty years. At the beginning of the twentieth century, their great-grandfather also performed in the circus arena. Grandfather - Mikhail Zapashny - was an acrobat and a fighter. Father Walter, who died in 2007, and Uncle Mstislav worked as trainers. Edgard Zapashny, like his brother Askold, began to enter the arena at an early age. By the mid-1990s, future fame could already act not only as trainers, but also as tightrope walkers and acrobats, and even as horse jugglers. Together with their parents, the boys toured as employees of the Russian State Circus.
Edgard Zapashny
The oldest son of Walter Zapashny - Edgard - was born on July 11, 1976 in the city of Yalta. He made his debut in the circus arena in 1988 in Riga. After he and his brother graduated from high school, the family went to work in China. In these difficult times for the country and the circus, in 1991, Zapashny was offered a very profitable contract that gave them the opportunity to save their animals from starvation. Especially for this family troupe, the Chinese built a small summer circus in Safari Park, in the vicinity of Shenzhen.
Childhood
Edgard could not be called an assiduous child, in contrast to his brother, who was always calmer. Edgard almost always got from his parents, because he was the instigator of various leprosy. Dad - Walter Zapashny - always raised his sons in severity.
He checked their diaries daily, sometimes praised, encouraged with expensive gifts, but sometimes punished. Even when the sons became students, the father continued to control their studies.
Edgard has never been in conflict. This character trait is still characteristic of him. However, in companies, he always sought to become a leader, working for the positive. Gathering children around him, the eldest son of Walter Zapashny constantly took part in sports competitions. Exact sciences were also easily given to him . Edgard often took first place in mathematical olympiads. And although the boys changed enough schools, moving with their parents from city to city, this did not affect their studies.
Own show
Together with his father and brother Edgard Zapashny traveled with tours to Japan and Mongolia, Hungary, Kazakhstan, Belarus. Returning in 1996 from China to Russia, the family was out of work. And they had to earn in commercial programs for one hundred dollars per performance. And in 1998, after celebrating his seventieth birthday, Walter Zapashny wished to pass the attraction “Among the Predators” to his sons.
After working like this for some time, the brothers got into the idea of creating their own show. Edgard Zapashny, who is more inclined to commerce, met almost all well-known producers. However, no one agreed to work with their project to turn the circus into a profitable show. Only Alexander Tsekalo became interested in this , but relations with him somehow did not work out. And then Askold Zapashny and Edgard Zapashny themselves started looking for an investor.
Family council
At first, the brothers began to learn from private distributors, for which they entered a commercial troupe and began to travel on tours throughout Siberia. And in early 2003, Edgard Zapashny convened a family council, at which it was decided to register his company. Now they could conclude an agreement with any circus, bypassing the "Rosgoszirk". It was difficult at first. The first tour failed miserably. But gradually, the audience began to go to the shows. In the summer, the troupe performed in large cities, and in the fall traveled around the periphery.
First success
By 2005, Edgard Zapashny, whose photos already began to appear in glossy magazines, fully recouped all the costs of the project. And by 2008, he had prepared a new show. It was called the Luzhniki Circus Zapashny. The brothers invented the script themselves. Askold served as a screenwriter. For the performance in Luzhniki, according to the plan of Edgard, two arenas were established so that the artists worked in parallel. The ballet troupe also participated in the show.
Education
Edgard Zapashny graduated from high school in Yalta. He speaks good English, and speaks Chinese. In addition to a circus career, the trainer is engaged in his education: he graduated from the Institute of Entrepreneurship and Law in Moscow. In his free time he likes to play bowling and billiards.
Projects
The brothers created the Zapashny Brothers Circus, a large number of fascinating circus shows, such as the Colosseum, Camelot, Sadko, Camelot 2: Viceroy of the Gods, and Legend. And in 2007, Edgard took part in the King of the Ring tournament on Channel One. The final battle with Evgeny Dyatlov won Zapashny. Edgard, whose personal life is still not arranged, according to him, has not yet met a girl whom he would truly love. Although, according to friends, he has changed a lot lately. Moreover, for a long time walking with long hair tied in a tail, Edgard Zapashny had a haircut.
Achievements and rewards
In 1999, the eldest son of Walter Zapashny was awarded the title of Honored Artist. In 2001, he became a laureate of the national Circus Prize, and in 2002 he was awarded the Moscow Government Prize. In addition, Edgard is the winner of three international festivals, including circus art, held in Yaroslavl in 1997. His trick called "jumping on a lion on horseback" was listed in the Guinness Book.

Personal life
Despite such great popularity, a successful career and financial security, Edgard still did not receive from life. Unfortunately, his "personal front" has not yet been arranged: this circus artist does not yet have a family. He has not yet been able to meet that girl whom he would like to call his half for life. Edgard takes marriage very seriously, believing that you should never enter into a relationship, starting a family just because the time has come for it. Edward Zapashny’s wife, he said, should be single and forever. In his opinion, the relationship for which you have to pay the rest of your life is the biggest mistake.
Edgard always cites his parents as an example. Walter Zapashny met his wife when he was already fifty-eight, but they happily lived for many years.
Love
According to the trainer, all in his life there were three big loves. The most serious love came to him at the age of eighteen in China, where Edgard worked with his family at the circus. The girl was a Chinese woman, an employee of Safari Park. Walter Zapashny helped her by teaching animals. After a mutual feeling arose between the young people, they began to live together. For more than a year and a half, Edgard lived with her in a civil marriage, but then, due to circumstances, he went back to Russia. Six years later, during another tour in China, he again met his former love, which still had not married. After talking, the young people parted again, preserving warm memories from the meeting.
Edgard Zapashny prefers not to talk about his second love, which in his own way changed his personal life. According to the artist, it’s wrong to talk about your girls, especially about those with whom I spent some time together. In general, the trainer prefers to keep his personal life a secret, saying that he has something to be proud of besides this.
Therefore, his fans can only guess who their idol is currently meeting with. For example, recently in Thailand on the island of Phuket in a nightclub paparazzi photographed a curious couple. It was Edgard Zapashny and Slava Demeshko - a long-haired blonde with a model appearance, which his fans immediately called a new girlfriend. However, the artist himself does not make any comments on this subject.

Today, this circus artist has a serious romantic relationship with any representative of the fair sex or not, it’s impossible to say for sure, but judging by the fact that he devotes almost all the time to work, the answer is rather negative. However, Edgard is not a conservative. He fully admits the institution of civil marriage, all the more so since he already had such an experience in his life. Zapashny lived for many years with a woman whom he sincerely loved. It was an aerial gymnast Lena Petrikova. Fans married them many times, however, the couple did not reach the real registry office.

The main personality in the circus world, which Edgard always focused on, was his father - the late Walter Zapashny, who, according to his son, was one of the most talented trainers, and not only on the scale of our country. Yuri Nikulin was another idol, taking into account his circus adequacy and degree of popularity, although Edgard personally saw him only once and, unfortunately, did not have the honor to talk to him. And the artist highlights such American illusionists who work with predatory animals like Siegfried and Roy.
Circus Zapashny
For already sufficient time, this group has shown large performances in Luzhniki. These are not just programs, but full-fledged shows with the participation of a sufficient number of artists, a large budget, modern equipment, etc. And last year, on the idea of the Zapashny brothers, the World Festival “Idol” was held in the arena of the large Moscow Circus.
