Endocervix cysts - common neoplasms

Endocervix - the mucous membrane of the cervix lining. Cysts on this membrane can be located throughout the cervical canal. Endocervix cysts can be detected by ultrasound. Nowadays, they are observed in the vast majority of previously giving birth to women 35-40 years old. Cases of the occurrence of this disease in young, nulliparous women have become more frequent. Normally, the muscular walls of the cervix are homogeneous. In women giving birth, the presence of anechoic (diameter up to 5 mm), as well as hyperechoic (more than 5 mm) inclusions is considered the norm. Most often, hypoechoic formations precisely become endocervix cysts.

Their occurrence occurs in the healing process of cervical erosion. Cysts are formed during the blockage of the ducts of the glands, resulting in an accumulation of their secretion in these ducts. These cysts are benign and, as a rule, do not require surgical intervention. Such neoplasms, although they cause serious concern, are usually not harmful to women's health.

Cysts of endocervix can sometimes occupy a large part of the surface of the cervix, without having pronounced negative consequences. Also, they practically do not affect the woman's ability to fertilize and the course of pregnancy.

There are many causes of cysts of this disease. Most often, colpitis and cervicitis can become a prerequisite for the occurrence of such a neoplasm. Not the last place in the causes of cyst formation is occupied by cauterization of erosion and the processes of its healing.

There are several methods for diagnosing endocervix cysts. One of the simplest and most commonly available methods for detecting this disease is ultrasound. A highly informative diagnostic method is advanced colposcopy. During this procedure, inspection is carried out through a special microscope. With its help, the cervix is โ€‹โ€‹very carefully studied for tumors. If there is a suspicion of a cyst arising from a routine ultrasound examination, an accurate diagnosis is made using advanced colposcopy.

With this disease, an oncocytological smear test is also performed. Another type of research is PAP smear (according to Papanicolaou). This procedure allows you to determine the initial stage of precancerous changes. This smear is performed using a specific composition of paints and fixatives. The need for such thorough research is obvious: they detect early precancerous conditions.

Inflammation of the endocervix cyst is the most important reason for conducting thorough research, and taking operational measures.

Endocervix cysts, treatment:

1. When establishing the benignity of a cyst, treatment is usually not carried out.

2. Sometimes the cyst is removed by the radio wave method.

3. When applying the radiosurgical method, puncture of the cyst is performed, as a result of which the secretion is drained.

4. The laser is used when the cysts are visible in the mirrors and are located near the vaginal area of โ€‹โ€‹the cervix.

5. Indications for cryotherapy are deeply located cysts. This method consists in applying low temperatures. This procedure is performed in the outpatient clinic using liquid nitrogen. It is best done after menstruation. The main condition for the appointment of cryotherapy is the absence of any inflammatory processes.

6. In case of complication of the cyst by the course of chronic adnexitis, surgical treatment is carried out with inflammatory tumorous formations.
