Croutons with eggs are ideal for breakfast or a light dinner. They cook in a hurry (it will take no more than 20 minutes to prepare breakfast), but it turns out delicious and satisfying. Such a dish is quite suitable even as an appetizer, if guests suddenly come to you and you don’t have time to run to the store or just don’t feel like it. In this article, you will be offered several options for making croutons: with egg and milk, with egg and cheese, with egg, cheese and mushrooms. Choose to your taste, or try to cook all the options, each of which is good in its own way.

For the sweet tooth, we present the first option: croutons with egg and milk. You will need: a sliced ​​loaf (or any other, sweet loaves of raisins or poppy seeds are ideal in this case), two eggs, a glass of milk, half a glass of sugar, vanilla (or vanilla sugar) and frying oil.

We cut the loaf with staples (for originality, you can cut them into strips, but not very thin, so that they do not fall apart). In a deep, wide bowl, beat eggs with sugar and gradually add milk. It is very important not to mix everything at once, otherwise it will be difficult to obtain a homogeneous mass. Add vanilla (it may well be replaced with cinnamon, but this, as they say, is already an amateur).

Dip slices of loaf in the resulting mixture and fry in oil until golden brown, first on one side and then on the other.

Such croutons go well with coffee, milk, tea and even juice.

The second option: croutons with egg and cheese. You will need: a sliced ​​loaf (you can use bread, but a loaf in this case is best), 2 eggs, half a glass of milk, 50 gr. grated hard cheese, salt and frying oil.

Beat eggs with milk. We cut the bread in baubles (the size of portioned slices at your discretion), dip in the mixture and fry in butter until golden brown on one side. Then turn, salt, sprinkle with grated hard cheese and cover the pan with a lid. Fry for another two minutes over low heat.

Croutons with egg and cheese are ready!

The third option is perhaps the most difficult, but the most delicious: croutons with eggs, cheese, tomatoes, mushrooms and herbs.

To prepare two croutons you will need:

Two large pieces of loaf (piece width 1.5-2 cm.), Two eggs, one unripe tomato (it should be hard), 50 gr. grated hard cheese, one clove of garlic, 50 gr. champignons (already fried in butter and ready to eat), 50-60 gr. mayonnaise, chopped herbs (parsley and leek) for sprinkling, salt and oil for frying.

Cooking. In each piece of loaf we take out the middle (we get two pieces with a hole in the middle) and put it on a heated frying pan with oil. Gently, one at a time, break the eggs (it is advisable to make it so that the yolk does not spread) and pour into the “window” of each piece, salt, cover and fry over low heat until a crisp appears on the bottom (about three minutes), turn and fry on the other hand. The result should be two croutons with an egg in the middle. Remove and spread on a flat plate, rub the hot croutons on one side with garlic, sprinkle with cheese, slices of tomato, mushrooms and fill with mayonnaise. Sprinkle with greens on top.


The easiest way to make croutons takes no more than ten minutes and is perfect as a hot sandwich for breakfast with tea or coffee. For two croutons, two slices of loaf or white bread are enough (a loaf is still preferable), a clove of garlic, salt, 50 gr. grated hard cheese, salt and vegetable oil for frying.

Fry the loaf (or bread) on both sides, still rub it with garlic, salt, and sprinkle with grated cheese.

Small tricks: it is desirable to fry croutons in a pan with a non-stick coating, and serve already slightly cooled.
