Claude Monet was born in Paris, and then his five-year-old child was transferred to Normandy. Father was engaged in grocery trading and wanted his son to have his own business. However, when a person sees color and line and he can depict them, no other specialty can simply exist in his life. All its essence is captured by lines and colors.
Start
So it was with Monet. Previously, artists worked mostly in workshops. At the age of 16, the young painter takes to the air and begins to learn to paint landscapes in nature. Later, he deliberately creates a canvas that he calls "Breakfast on the Grass."
This is only the beginning of a long journey of the artist’s search, which does not reflect much later created style, which will have many imitators. In the meantime, this is a charming genre scene that perfectly conveys the play of the sun. The canvas revives the foliage of the trees, glinting on the clothes of the ladies and their gentlemen, on the tablecloth, on the fruits and fruits. It is light that is the dominant, it is its play and shadows that create the impression of joy and peace. Gradually, the goals will change, and, consequently, Monet’s paintings.
The portrait of Camilla's future wife brought him fame.
But again this is not the artist who is known and appreciated now. Monet's paintings are the national pride of France.
Search for the way
The painting “Walk” is already a noticeable movement of Monet in search of a new style.
A light breeze, caught a moment, tossed up an airy muslin scarf and magnificent skirts of a young woman. Her light dress is the color of the clouds, and the umbrella is the color of the grass.
But here is a later landscape created in Étretat. This is the Monet that everyone knows - the creator of impressionism.
Exquisite colors, subtle transitions and their nuances conquer the viewer. And let rain pour here - it is not an obstacle to enjoy the aroma of the sea and its excitement.
These are also Monet's paintings, but already created in Britain. His hand is easily recognized.
Life enjoyment
Having bought a house in Giverny, the artist became interested in gardening. He had an amazing garden and a pond in which he planted nymphs. Now it is a constant source of inspiration. Here are written more and more new paintings of Monet.
This juicy emerald green of trees, which is reflected in the lake, is simply amazing. It enters the water with bluish-green colors, enhancing the pink spots of
water lilies. Monet's description of the picture will not be complete, since it is impossible to show details in close-up. He will draw the same pond many times on his canvases, never repeating himself, admiring more and more new games of colors at different times of the year. It will be lilac-pink tones, and greenish-lilac, and blue-pink. He got up at five in the morning and began to work in any weather. Therefore, it always turned out a new stunning result. Monet's paintings in Giverny - a hymn to white and pink water lilies. Until the very end of his life, he will write them again and again. Even a cataract patient, and later operated on, he will not leave paint and brush.
Friends will come here to Giverny in his hospitable house: Renoir, Cezanne, Sisley, Matisse, Pissarro. They are pleased to be shown a greenhouse, a garden, and a collection of Monet's Japanese prints. Paintings
artists are also being discussed.
Monet died in 1926. He knew in life both glory and wealth.
