To cook the ribs with potatoes in the oven, you will need the following ingredients:
- Pork ribs - they are more tender and juicy than veal. After heat treatment, they will not lose their charm and taste. Count about 2 ribs for each person.
- Onion - 1 large head.
- Carrots - 1 medium.
- Vegetable oil.
- Salt pepper.
- Peppercorns, bay leaf.
For garnish we will use potatoes. Its quantity is also worth counting, for example, three potatoes per person.
Cooking method:
- Take pork ribs, wash them thoroughly, then dry with a paper towel. If the ribs were bought in full, then they need to be cut into separate parts. Often there is too much fat on pork ribs . Do not be afraid to get rid of it. Excessive fat content will only harm the taste of the dish itself. But also do not make too lean slices.
- Heat the pan well enough, pour a few tablespoons of vegetable oil there. When the oil warms up well (and this can be checked with a drop of water - if after adding water the oil splashes like a fountain, then you can already proceed to the subsequent preparation), put the ribs in the pan. Without closing the lid, they need to be fried over high heat from all sides.
Note! Salt and pepper raw meat is not worth it, as these seasonings can add rigidity.
- In a separate pan, you also need to heat several tablespoons of vegetable oil. Onions and carrots will be fried here.
- Peel carrots and onions. Cut everything into rings and fry.
- Preheat the oven to 200 degrees.
- The recipe for ribs in the oven will be successful if you select a fairly deep baking tray. At the bottom you need to put the fried vegetables - they will play the role of "bedding". Salt and pepper them well. Put ribs on top. They also salt and pepper. Then sprinkle with a few peas of pepper and 2-3 sheets of laurel.
