Buscopan suppositories are an
antispasmodic with antidiarrheal, antiemetic, and antiarrhythmic effects. The pharmacological action of this drug is based on the blocking of m-cholinergic receptors and the stimulation of atropine-like processes. The latter are manifested in the form of an increase in heart rate, a slowdown of the process of peristalsis,
paralysis of accommodation, dilated pupils, decreased secretion of excretory glands, increased intraocular pressure, relaxation of the gastrointestinal muscles, development of sedation and acceleration of AV conduction. It is especially worth noting that the Buscopan suppositories are rather poorly absorbed and have a very low degree of binding to plasma proteins. This
