Cromoglin. Instruction manual

"Cromoglin" instruction refers to the group of mast cell membrane stabilizers, anti-allergic drugs. The mechanism of action of the medication is due to its ability to block the intake of calcium in mast cells, thus preventing the degranulation and release of allergic and inflammatory mediators (histamine and bradykin), a substance (slowly reacting) and other biologically active components.

The drug is available in the form of a solution for instillations and a nasal spray.

The absorption of the drug during intranasal use is about 7% from the mucous membranes and depends on the volume of the mucous secretion, with an increase in the amount of which the degree of absorption decreases.

If accidentally swallowed, absorption of the drug from the digestive tract is minimal (less than 1%). Excretion is carried out unchanged with bile and urine in approximately equal amounts.

Cromoglin. Instruction Indications.

The medication is prescribed in ophthalmic practice for the treatment of conjunctivitis of the allergic nature of chronic and acute course, spring keratoconjunctivitis.

"Cromoglin" (nasal spray) is indicated for therapy and for the prevention of year-round and seasonal allergic rhinitis.

In ophthalmology, the drug is indicated for adults and children over four years of age.

"Cromoglin" (eye drops) is prescribed four times a day, drop by drop. If necessary, it is allowed to apply drop by drop six to eight times a day. The intervals between installations after reaching the therapeutic effect can be increased.

"Cromoglin" instruction allows children under four years of age to apply on the recommendation and under the supervision of a doctor.

Instillation is carried out in the conjunctival sac, pulling the lower eyelid, without touching the eye. To evenly distribute the solution, you must blink.

In the form of Cromoglin spray, it is recommended to apply one injection four times a day into each nostril. As a rule, the dosage regimen is set individually by a specialist. In some cases, it may be prescribed by injection six times a day or two to four times.

The side effects include the sensation of the presence of a foreign object in the eyes, burning sensation, hyperemia, swelling of the conjunctiva to the side effects of the drug Cromoglin. After injections into the nose, patients may notice minor transient irritations, in rare cases, headaches, nosebleeds, cough, taste change, suffocation, mucous membranes, angioedema, hoarseness, swelling in the larynx.

Hypersensitivity is a contraindication to the appointment of a medication.

The use of the drug during lactation and during gestation, especially during the first trimester, is possible only on the recommendation and under the supervision of a doctor. According to clinical and experimental studies, a teratogenic effect from the active component (cromoglicic acid sodium salt) was not observed. The active substance is able to be excreted in breast milk in an insignificant amount, which, apparently, does not pose a threat to infants.

When using the drug "Cromoglin" it is not recommended to use contact lenses. If necessary, the use of hard lenses, which should be installed no earlier than fifteen minutes after using the solution.

Patients temporarily losing their clarity of vision after the introduction of drops, it is not recommended immediately after the use of funds to engage in potentially dangerous work.

Cases of overdose in clinical practice are not described.

The drug must be used after opening for four weeks.
