Kane Hodder: biography and filmography

Kane Hodder is an American actor, stuntman, producer, director and writer. Best known for playing the role of maniac Jason Voorhees in the horror film series Friday the 13th, he participated in four franchise films. He also participated in various roles in the horror franchises Ax, Nightmare on Elm Street, and Texas Chainsaw Massacre.

Childhood and youth

Kane Hodder was born on April 8, 1954 in Auburn, California. According to him, he was the largest newborn in the history of the city, birth weight was five kilograms of two hundred grams.

In his autobiography, Kane wrote that all childhood was subjected to ridicule and bullying by school hooligans. He spent his teenage years on a tropical island in the Pacific Ocean. After returning to the United States, he began his stunt career. Thanks to impressive growth and weight parameters, Kane Hodder quickly made his way into the film business and received the nickname "cement head."

In the late seventies, on the set of one of the low-budget films, the stuntman suffered as a result of an unsuccessful stunt. He received serious third degree burns, about fifty percent of his body was damaged. To this day, Kane Hodder appears in public in leather gloves, laughing a joke that he does not want to leave his prints. In fact, he hides the terrible burns on his hands.

The most notable works

In the early eighties, Kane Hodder began working in larger projects, in addition to stunt work, also appearing in episodic roles. In 1988, he got the role of the villain Jason Voorhees in the sixth film of the franchise Friday, the 13th. After that, he appeared in three more films of the series and portrayed the famous maniac in a computer game based on films. Fans are considered the best performer of the role, despite the fact that many actors and stuntmen performed in the image of Jason over the long years of the franchise's life.

When the studio launched the Jason vs. Freddy crossover, the producers and director decided not to call Kane Hodder for the role of Voorhees, which caused a storm of indignation among fans. Instead of Hodder, the role of Jason was given to Canadian stuntman Ken Kirzinger.

Also among the feature films with Kane Hodder, the horror franchise "Ax" stands out in the main role, where he portrayed the villain Victor Crowley in the original film and two sequels.

As a stuntman, Kane worked on the third part of the Texas Chainsaw Massacre series and also played a small role in one of the sequels Nightmare on Elm Street. Kane Hodder has been married to a woman named Susan from 1984 to the present. The couple have two children, sons Reed and Jace.
