Extremely extraordinary plot - this is the first thing that can be said about the cartoon "Up" (2009). Cartoon actors (that's what I want to call them) maximally convey all the emotions of the main characters - in this, of course, they are helped by people behind the scenes who are responsible for voice acting. The result was a lively animated picture worthy of an Oscar.
But it is. Cartoon "Up" was awarded the Oscar, recognized as the best animated film of 2010 - this is the first award. The second "Oscar" cartoon received for the best soundtrack to the picture.
Other rewards
In the same categories, "Up" received awards from the following film festivals:
- The Golden Globe (2010).
- "British Academy" (2010).
- Saturn (2010).
The budget of the cartoon amounted to 175 million dollars, and the fees exceeded this figure several times, which in itself indicates the success of the picture.
From this it follows that all the creators of the cartoon gave all the best. The final work was done by the voice actors - it was they who revived the characters of the animated cartoon, giving them their voices.
Protagonists: Initial Scoring
The actors of the cartoon "Up" (2009), who initially voiced the picture, gave their characters special notes of sound. Based on this, subsequently, each country selected “votes” for dubbing.
The main character Karl Fredricksen voiced by Edward Esner - an actor in theater and cinema. In the 80s, Ed was president of the Actors Guild. In the voice acting of multheroes, until this time, he practically did not participate.
Charles Manz, a research hero, was voiced by Christopher Plummer, a film and theater actor in Canada. On his account there are also no numerous practices for voicing cartoon characters. Apparently, the directors decided that the characters in the cartoon speak with "new", unbroken voices, and they did not lose their choice.
Russell, a 9-year-old scout boy, spoke in the voice of Jordon Nagai. At the time of voicing the cartoon, the boy was as old as his hero. The voice of Jordon also speaks one of the characters in the cartoon "The Simpsons" - Charlie.
Dog Doug (speaking humanly using a special device mounted in a collar) broadcasts the voice of Bob Peterson. The voice of this actor is said by the heroes of such cartoons as:
- Monster Corporation - Rose.
- "Finding Nemo" - Mr. Ray.
- "The Incredibles".
All the actors of the cartoon "Up" (2009) did an excellent job with voicing their characters - perfectly conveyed their emotions and feelings. The same can be said about the artists of the dubbing cartoon in the Russian language.
Cartoon (2009) Up: actors in charge of Russian dubbing
The following list is for those who are interested, who voiced the heroes of the cartoon "Up" in Russian:
- Karl Fredriksen spoke in Russian with the voice of Armen Dzhigarkhanyan. Surprisingly, the image of this hero looks very similar to Armen. Therefore, we can say that his voice is perfect for voicing this particular cartoon.
- Researchers of Paradise Falls were duplicated in Russian by Dalvin Shcherbakov, Honored Artist of Theater and Cinema in the Russian Federation. Also on his account at the moment there are more than 50 works in the field of duplication of films and cartoons.
- Russell was voiced in Russian by 11-year-old boy Ivan Chuvatkin - this is his third practice in dubbing cartoon heroes. Until 2009, the actor gave his voice to the cartoon characters "Baby from Beverly Hills" (Chihuahua), "Nico: The Path to the Stars" - Nico.
- Dog Dag in Russian voiced by Vladimir Tyagichev. The actor’s practice in the direction of dubbing at that time was about 20 works.
Interesting facts about the cartoon
The directors worked the longest to create the image of the Doug dog - funny, but it's a fact. To do this, the creators connected to the workflow a well-known specialist in dog behavior, Jan Dunbar. It was he who helped portray Doug's behavior by correctly displaying the real body language of the dogs.
A boy scout was added to the script much later than the dog Doug and the bird Kevin. His appearance had a positive effect on the overall plot of the picture.
If Paradise Falls were transferred to real life, then they would have been known to everyone as Angel - the highest cascade of falling water in the world. That's exactly what one of the creators of the cartoon said.
Cartoon "Up" is a true masterpiece of joint authoring and modern animation.
