Amelia (Amy) Pond is a character in the sci-fi series Doctor Who. She first appears in the first episode of the fifth season. Amy Pond is the first companion of the Eleventh Doctor, in addition, she is also the first whom he, the Doctor, met immediately after his regeneration. Amy traveled with the timelord for two and a half seasons. The red-haired beauty liked everyone (or almost everyone) who managed to get to know her.
short biography
Amy Pond is from Scotland, she is an orphan and, as a child, moves with her aunt to England. She meets doctors at nine years old (the first time) and twenty-one (the second, after which she became his companion). Adult Amy works as a kissogram.
The space-time crack in Amelia's room left a mark in her life. For example, she does not remember why she has no parents.
Amy meets a guy, a nurse named Rory Williams (later marries him and they have a daughter - Melody).
Meet the Doctor
After regeneration, the Eleventh Doctor is wrecked in the yard of little Amelia Pond. The girl tells him about the crack in her room, and also feeds him first apples, then sandwiches with butter and beans. All this is a picky Doctor rejects and eventually finishes his meal with the famous fish sticks with custard.
But the bell in the TARDIS forces the time traveler to return to his ship, and he promises to appear in the same courtyard in some five minutes. But the calculation went wrong, and on the threshold of the house Amy Pond the Eleventh appears after twelve years.
Traveling with a Doctor
Amy Pond, along with her boyfriend Rory, have been Doctor's companions for two and a half seasons. During travels through the stars, they met Van Gogh and saved a huge space whale, fought Silence and Crying Angels. By the way, they had to deal with the latter more than once.
Relations
Despite the fact that at the very beginning it is clearly indicated that Amy and Rory are dating, it seems that he loves her more than she loves him. In addition, the emphasis is constantly placed on the fact that Rory is jealous of his girlfriend for the Doctor. Ultimately, however, he realizes that Amy loves the Eleventh as a childhood friend. Although some of her actions suggest otherwise, so Williams sometimes has reasonable reasons for jealousy.
For example, on the night before her wedding, Amy is so afraid of taking this step that she escapes with the Doctor to the TARDIS and, moreover, tries to sleep with him. It is the Eleventh that persuades her not to commit such rash acts and take a step towards her happiness, and not away from him.
The fifth season, in principle, means a lot for Pond relationships. In it, Rory is erased from history, and Amy forgets him, in him he decides on an invaluable sacrifice for the sake of his love and waits for the bride two thousand years. At the end of the season, the couple will marry.
Doctor and Ponds
Amy does not travel constantly with the Doctor: in the sixth and seventh season, she and Rory have time to build their own family, which is nevertheless connected with the timelord. For example, the daughter of Pond was conceived in the TARDIS. And Amy's pregnancy was one of the key moments of the series of the sixth season.
The end of the story of Amelia Pond
In the Angels Capture Manhattan series, Crying Angels takes Amy and Rory to the past in which they are stuck. It is known that the couple lived a long and happy life together. Amy Pond died at the age of 87 and was buried with her husband.

The actress who played Amy is Karen Gillan, also of Scottish descent. Prior to her appearance as a companion, she managed to play a cameo role in The Doctor. As a constant character, she gained popularity, immediately winning the hearts of millions.
After leaving the show, Karen smiled again. True, the one for which she had to part with a red head of hair. A blue-skinned, bald villain in Guardians of the Galaxy - this was Gillan's next role.
But the next character Karen in the series "Selfie" is much more reminiscent of the charming Amy Pond - the same emancipation, seduction and cheerfulness. The actress perfectly coped with the role, however, unfortunately, after the first season the series was closed.
