Recommend a good book

There is a list of hundreds of books that anyone who claims to be intelligent must read . People who are just starting to get acquainted with the best works of world classics should be asked more often: advise a good book. And if they asked me what book you would recommend reading, I would answer without hesitation: one of Remarque's best novels “Three Comrades” (German: Drei Kameraden). This novel was first published in Denmark (Gyldendal Publishing House), published in Russian in 1958.

Erich Maria Remarque fought in the First World War, everything that fell then all of Germany, and indeed Europe, fell to his lot. I would like to recommend almost every of his works to the request: advise a good book. But this one is the best.

People just live. Three comrades: the protagonist Robert Lokamp (Robbie), Otto Köster and Gottfried Lenz, passionate car lovers, contain a car repair shop. Robert, for friends - Robbie, a car mechanic, a great friend and a man with a great sense of humor. However, his friends also know how to laugh at themselves and cute joke on others.

But not with regard to cars. Firstly, it is their life, their earnings, their business. Secondly, it is their great love. They made an almost racing car out of the old carriage, over which the owners of new cars invariably make fun of themselves: they put in a powerful engine, replaced all the old with new parts. That's just the body of the "Karl" remained old - specifically in order to wipe the nose of the bouncers. So they overtook on the highway, and as if this is the most common thing, Buke, whose owner, fortunately, turned out to be an adequate person.

This was crucial because the passenger in his car was Patricia Holman. They, Robbie and Pat, met thanks to Carl.

It seems to be happiness. People from different classes, they really love. And Pat took Robbie's furnished room as if it were the best of the palaces. The war went on and on previously wealthy people: Patricia was starving in childhood and this became the cause of tuberculosis.

Pat joined in the life of friends. She became the fourth. She went to the races with them and passionately cheered for “Karl”, who always won. She ate crayfish with them, and even the stern Alphonse, the owner of the cafe, recognized her as a unique and beautiful lady. Well, Lenz, the last of the romantics, acknowledged all the more. Otto Koester, like an older brother, looked after all of them so that everything was in order.

However, trouble came - open the gate. The Nazis kill Lenz - accidentally, having become angry. Kester "met" the killer before Robert. And here Patricia gets sick: she has another exacerbation of tuberculosis.

She knew that she would not return from the sanatorium. Kester, when Robert ran out of money, sold Karl, although it was like losing his right hand.

But Pat died anyway.

A helpless short retelling of the plot - simply because this book remains in the heart - as a memory of people who were your friends. Yes, these are only literary heroes, but it is clear that they had real prototypes. The most important friend becomes Remarque himself. Everyone who accepted his books accepted him as friends. Become his friend.

It does not matter that he has long gone into another world. Geniuses - do not die! And if they tell you: advise a good book, name this one among the first three!

Good books are always - even in times of book abundance - hard to find on sale. True, now the matter is greatly simplified: electronic books have appeared where you can download any work you want to read.

The advantage of e-books, in addition to ease of reading, is that they simulate paper, their screen is made using electronic ink technology (E-Ink / SiPix), and the text is easy to read. Eyes from reading do not get tired.

If you turn to the seller of a computer hardware store with a request: advise a good e-book, he will most likely advise just such. PocketBooks are considered the best of tablets: they read almost all formats in which a book can be: FB2, FB2.zip, TXT, PDF, RTF, HTML, PRC, CHM, DJVU, DOC, EPUB, TCR.

The PocketBook screen is usually such that the entire page is visible, they usually have a screen diagonal of 7 inches (17.5 centimeters), with a resolution of 480x800 pixels. True paper-like E-Ink do not emit light, that is, without lighting you can not read them. Books with LCD displays have their own backlight, but if you read them in the dark, your eyes get tired. Almost all e-books have an average memory of 500 MB, that is, you can download a decent library of about 500 books at the same time. At the request: advise a good book, you can give at least hundreds of items that mankind has entered into its treasury.

Some of them can voice music, show drawings. Books necessarily have a Wi-Fi module through which it is easy to download books without connecting to a desktop computer.

The network has a lot of resources with paid and free literature, therefore, books already downloaded to the device are a pleasant addition, rather than a criterion that determines the choice.

Recently, a completely new 2012 PocketBook tablet appeared, running on the Android Gingerbread operating system! It has a 1 Hz processor Texas Instruments TI3621, 2 GB flash memory, external SD memory, Wi-Fi antenna, headphone jack.
