"Streptocide" is an antimicrobial medicinal product of the sulfanilic acid group for external and local use. The drug is used to treat infectious and inflammatory diseases of the skin and mucous membranes.
Composition, release form
The drug "Streptocide" is currently produced in the following types:
- ointment 10% for topical application;
- liniment 5% for external use;
- powder for external use.
Under the name "Streptocid" only powder and ointment are produced, under the name "Streptocid ointment" - ointment, and under "Streptocid soluble" - liniment.
In the form of tablets, the drug Streptocid is not available in the Russian Federation.
Drug action
The drug “Streptocid soluble” has a therapeutic effect that affects bacteria that provoke the appearance of inflammatory diseases of the skin and mucous membranes.
The drug can be used in the treatment of infectious and inflammatory diseases of the oral cavity and nasal passages, which can be caused by the above infections. In addition to anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial effects, Streptocid helps fast healing of wounds on the skin surface.
Indications for use of "Streptocide"
The drug "Streptocide" in any form of release is indicated for use in conjunction with the complex treatment of the following diseases:
- inflammation of the tonsils (tonsillitis);
- wounds of any etiology (festering);
- burns of the first or second degree;
- ulcerative manifestations on the skin;
- acute recurrent infectious disease that is caused by beta-hemolytic group A streptococcus (erysipelas);
- cracks in the skin ;
- boils;
- carbuncles;
- pyoderma.
"Streptocide": instructions for use, reviews, analogues
In Russia, Streptocide is available in the form of a powder, solution, ointment. The powder is applied to the surface of the damaged skin or is blown into the deeper wounds. The product is applied to the injured area of the skin by dusting. Initially, the required amount of Streptocide is poured onto gauze, then gently applied to the wound. One procedure will require 2 to 5 grams of powder, depending on the severity of the damage.
"Streptocide" in the form of a powder must be applied three to four times a day. The number of procedures depends on the degree of neglect of the wound.
Almost all reviews of Streptocid are positive. This phenomenon is associated with high drug efficacy, wide spectrum of action, reasonable price. Powder "Baneocin"
It is a combined antibiotic for external use, has a wide spectrum of action. It is not addictive, it is used to treat both adults and children. Baneocin powder is used for any dermatological infections, for example:
- trophic ulcers;
- eczema;
- boils;
- purulent-necrotic inflammation of the skin;
- inflammation of the hair follicle;
- purulent inflammation of the apocrine sweat glands;
- purulent skin lesion resulting from the introduction of pyogenic cocci into it;
- diaper dermatitis;
- herpes;
- chickenpox;
- infectious dermatitis ;
- shingles;
- purulent skin ulcers.
Sometimes Baneocin is used for:
- processing the umbilical cord of the newborn;
- postoperative patient care for wound healing;
- healing of scratches, wounds, burns, abrasions, cracks in the skin.
Baneocin is used only externally. To do this, use a dosing cap to apply a thin layer to damaged skin. Put a bandage on top, the frequency of use is from 2 to 4 times a day.
For an adult, the maximum dose is about 200 grams of powder. "Baneocin", like any other drug, has a number of contraindications:
- eye infections
- allergic reactions;
- individual intolerance to the components.
"Sunoref" (ointment)
"Sunoref" is available in the form of an ointment with a concentration of 15 milligrams. The drug is used for acute and chronic inflammation of the nasal membrane (rhinitis). Sunoref ointment is applied topically to the mucous membrane. With frequent use, adverse reactions may occur. Ointment has contraindications - individual intolerance to the components.
The composition of the ointment:
- streptocide;
- norsulfazole;
- ephedrine hydrochloride;
- Eucalyptus oil.

Cream "Dermazin"
An external antibacterial drug is used to treat burns and trophic ulcers. "Dermazin" is produced in the form of a one percent white cream for external application, in cans of 250 grams and tubes of 50 grams. One gram of cream contains 10 milligrams of silver sulfadiazine.
Auxiliary components are:
- peanut butter;
- cetyl alcohol;
- polysorb 60;
- propylene glycol;
- purified water;
- para-hydroxybenzoic acid propyl ester.
The drug has contraindications:
- children up to 2 months;
- delivery period;
- pregnancy (third trimester);
- lactation;
