Plot
In a small village there lived two simple families whose children had been friends since childhood. Valerie and Peter were inseparable. Having matured, the young man became a lumberjack, like most men. Valerie came to visit him to cut down, despite the fact that walking into the forest was extremely dangerous. The girl was married to Henry - the son of a blacksmith, who was one of the richest people in the area. Young people decide to run away because they cannot live without each other. But their plans were not destined to be fulfilled - a wolf appeared again in the forest. This time, he chose Lucy's sister, Valerie, as his victim.
From time immemorial, residents once a month bring an offering - a pig, a ram or other animals. But sometimes this is not enough for the beast, and he kills people. The whole tragedy is that Lucy was in love with Henry, and hurried to the forest in search of an older sister to clarify the situation. Now Valerie will be forced to marry the blacksmith’s son. Men decide to go to the forest to deal with the werewolf. He violated the truce and must die.
A crowd of men sets off for the thicket where a blacksmith dies from the teeth of a simple gray wolf, which everyone takes for a werewolf. Soon Father Solomon, the famous witch and changeling hunter, arrives in the village. He reveals the truth to the inhabitants - a werewolf should turn into a person after death. They killed a simple wolf. In order to cope with a real monster, you need to use silver. For these purposes, he covered his nails with this solution.
Soon a wolf appears in the village and kills several people. He traps Valerie and her friend Roxanne. With horror, the girl learns that she understands the werewolf's speech. Her friend, to ward off suspicions from her brother, talks about a conversation between Valerie and a werewolf. They make a bait out of a girl. But Peter and Henry save her from death. Valerie herself guessed that Peter was a werewolf and thrust a knife into him. She hid in her grandmother's house, where she met her father.
The man revealed a terrible secret to his daughter - in fact, he was a monster. Valerie tries to kill her parent, and wounded Peter comes to the rescue. She manages to stick Solomon's hand into the werewolf, and he dies. But before he died, he managed to bite Peter. Young people drown the body of their father to hide the truth from people. In the finale, Valerie stands at the edge of the forest and waits for her beloved werewolf Peter. She remains to live in her grandmother's old house in the hope that her love will be stronger than the curse and the guy will defeat his essence.
