Strawberries are a delicious summer berry that is loved by both adults and children. In the season you can (and even need) to treat yourself and your family by offering them strawberry mousse. This traditional French dessert - light and airy - can be prepared with both squirrels and cottage cheese or semolina. You will find all these recipes in our article. In addition, the calorie content of the portion is small - only 214 kcal, so even those who follow a diet can afford such a pleasure.
Strawberry Mousse: Egg Whites Recipe
This method of preparation can be called classic, because that's how dessert is prepared in its historical homeland, in France. For 3-4 servings you will need:
- 400 g of strawberries (fresh in summer, frozen in winter)
- 100 g of sugar;
- 3 raw egg whites;
- 10 g of gelatin.
Wash the berries, then rub them through a sieve or beat in a puree with a blender. Add soaked in 4 tbsp. l hot water gelatin (after swelling it needs to be heated on a stove until crystals are dissolved). Beat egg whites with sugar until a dense foam is formed, and without turning off the mixer, add tablespoon of strawberry puree. Place the finished mousse in glasses or creamers and refrigerate for several hours. Before serving, decorate the dessert with halves of fresh berries.
Strawberry Mousse: recipe with cottage cheese
This dish will especially appeal to children. By the way, it is not only tasty, but also healthy - the berries contain useful vitamins, and cottage cheese will give the child the necessary amount of calcium. To make a treat, take:
- 200 g of fresh cottage cheese (for those who count calories, you can take fat-free);
- 100 g of natural yogurt;
- 300 g of strawberries;
- 2 tbsp. l Sahara;
- a teaspoon of cocoa or grated dark chocolate;
- mint leaves for decoration.

First, thoroughly beat the cottage cheese with yogurt and sugar until smooth (there should be no lumps and sugar grains in it). The resulting thick cream needs to be put in small dessert glasses, filling them in about half. In the remaining mass, add two-thirds of the strawberries (200 g) and beat until an airy pink color is obtained - this will be the second layer that needs to be put in glasses. To decorate the remaining berries, cut into slices, put on top on the curd, sprinkle with cocoa or grated chocolate. Each serving can be decorated with a mint leaf. Strawberry mousse, whose recipe is very simple and takes about 10 minutes, should be a little infused in the refrigerator. After that, you can enjoy a delicious combination of cottage cheese and fragrant strawberries.
Strawberry Mousse: recipe with semolina
Even if you donβt like semolina porridge since childhood, still try making mousse on semolina. It will turn out a delicious dessert, where cereal is not felt at all - only a light mass with a berry flavor. For cooking you will need:
- 300 g (1 cup) of fresh strawberries;
- 2/3 - 1 cup of granulated sugar (depending on the acid of the berries);
- 3 glasses of water;
- 3 tbsp. spoons with a slide of semolina.
Beat the strawberries in a blender, and then squeeze the mass thoroughly through cheesecloth. Pour the resulting juice into a separate bowl. Pour what is left after squeezing with three glasses of water and boil, then strain through a sieve. On the strawberry water obtained in this way, cook the semolina porridge with the addition of sugar (orient yourself to taste - you may need from half to 1 cup of granulated sugar). Pour strawberry juice into the finished semolina and immediately whisk. For best results, put the pot in very cold water at this stage of cooking. After about 5-7 minutes, the mass will reach the desired consistency. And then it needs to be laid out in tins and put in the refrigerator for a couple of hours.
