Potato in Ukrainian is considered one of the most popular recipes among the population. You can prepare this dish in various ways - boil, bake or fry potatoes. The main attribute of the Ukrainian dish is garlic, green onions and, of course, lard!

In most cases, for this dish, it is young potatoes that are used, since it is tastier and contains more beneficial properties. The antioxidants that are found in potatoes have a beneficial effect on the cardiovascular system, strengthen cell walls and inhibit the development of tumors.

For cooking you will need:

  • fat - 150-200 grams;
  • young potatoes - 800 grams;
  • sour cream - 3 tbsp. l .;
  • salt to taste;
  • onion.

First, peel and wash the potatoes, and then cut into large slices. In a hot pan, fry fat and add potatoes. It is necessary to fry until golden brown. Then we reduce the fire and pour the sour cream. The pan is covered with a lid, and the contents are stewed for 10-15 minutes.

In a separate frying pan, fry the onions, cut into rings, until crusted. We lay out the finished dish on plates, sprinkle with fried onions, pepper and salt. If desired, you can add a few tablespoons of sour cream, so the potato will become softer and more fragrant.

A true Ukrainian potato dish always includes lard, green onions and allspice garlic.

Ingredients for cooking:

  • potatoes - 500 grams;
  • fat - 200 grams;

  • first, peel the potatoes, wash and cut into thin layers;

Baked potato

You can cook potatoes in Ukrainian using the oven. The composition of the dish is the same as in the previous recipes - lard, young potatoes, onions, salt and pepper.

First, wash my potatoes and remove the thin skin with a special potato peeler. Then we cut it into two equal parts and put it on a baking sheet, greased with sunflower oil. Next, cut the fat into thin layers and lay it between the two halves of the potato. Top the dish with sprinkled onions, cut into rings, and sent to the oven.

In Ukrainian, bake fat and potatoes at a temperature of 180 degrees for 35-40 minutes. After the dish is ready, chop the garlic teeth into small pieces and sprinkle the potatoes. You can also add parsley, dill and chives. In some cases, when preparing this dish, hard cheese is used, which gives the dish a delicate creamy taste.
