"Secrets of the palace coups": actors of the episode "Testament of the Emperor"
In 2000, a multi-part film by Svetlana Druzhinina was released on television, in which each episode lasts more than an hour and reveals a key moment in Russian history. It is by what principle that the painting “Secrets of Palace Coups” is arranged.
Actors of the episode "Testament of the Emperor" open the curtain to the viewer, which hides the events of the last days of the life of Great Peter. Peter the Great was always busy with intense activity and did not think about death. However, the time "X" came up, and the great emperor did not leave a will. After Peter's death, serious passions flared up in the walls of the imperial palace and a fierce struggle for the throne unfolded, in the final of which the winner was Catherine I and her lover Alexander Menshikov.
The role of Peter I was played by Nikolai Karachentsov ("The Adventures of Electronics"), the role of Alexander Menshikov went to Sergei Shakurov ("Grandfather 005"), and the image of Catherine I was embodied by Natalia Egorova ("Children of Vanyukhin").

"Testament of the Empress" takes the viewer to a time when the end of the reign of Empress Catherine I is nearing. Almost all the nobility took up arms against her adviser and lover Alexander Menshikov. In the boudoir of the Empress, another conspiracy is brewing, which could end with another coup. Fortunately, Menshikov was warned in time about the threat looming over him. The second episode of the film “Secrets of Palace Revolutions” is dedicated to this page of history.
Actors Sergey Shakurov and Natalya Egorova again play Alexandra Menshikova and Ekaterina I. New characters also appear in the frame: actress Ekaterina Nikitina (Margosha) plays young Elizaveta Petrovna (future Empress); Irina Lachina (“Gift of Fate”) appears in the image of Anna Petrovna - Elizabeth's sister; and Dmitry Verkeenko ("Smersh. Legend for the traitor") plays the young Peter the Second.

In the film “Secrets of palace coups. I am the emperor ”actors cover the period when Catherine I dies and the grandson of Peter I - Peter Alekseevich becomes the actual heir to the throne. Under him, the same influential Prince Menshikov, who seeks to isolate the young emperor from the rest of the noble community, remains with him. However, some nobles are not going to put up with this, and first of all it concerns the Dolgoruky family.
In the new part of The Secrets of Palace Coups, the viewer sees already well-known actors Sergei Shakurov, Dmitry Verkeenko and Ekaterina Nikitina in the role of Elizabeth. Also in the foreground are the characters of Dmitry Kharatyan (Ivan Dolgoruky), Vladimir Ilyin (Andrey Osterman) and Alexei Zharkov (Alexey Dolgoruky). In the frame you can see the artists Gennady Yukhtin (“The Rumyantsev Case”), Marina Mayko (“Sand Rain”) and Maryana Tsaregradskaya (“Scientific Pilot Section”).
Episode "The Fall of Goliath"
The actors of the movie “Secrets of Palace Coups”, who played in the episode “The Fall of Goliath”, cover events that occurred shortly before the death of Emperor Peter the Second (recall that he lived only 14 years). The conspirators manage to steal the young Peter from under the supervision of Alexander Menshikov and convince him to sign the papers, according to which the influential prince should be sent into exile. Soon Menshikov was arrested and sent to spend his days in Siberia.
In the episode "The Fall of Goliath" all the same familiar faces of Russian artists flash, the ranks of which were joined by Alexander Peskov ("The Rook"), Fedor Dobronravov ("Matchmakers"), Vladimir Privalov ("Code of dishonor") and Natalya Fateeva ("Change the meeting place" impossible ”).

In total, Svetlana Druzhinina made eight films, which were shown under the general title “Secrets of Palace Revolutions” on the TV channel “Russia-1”.
In the episode "The Emperor’s Second Bride," the director tells how the noble Dolgoruky family tried to marry the young Peter the Second to a representative of her kind - Catherine.
In the sixth film, “The Death of the Young Emperor,” their plans collapse, since Peter the Second did not live to see his wedding, but died of smallpox.
In the seventh film, Anna Ioannovna ascends the throne, during the reign of which the administrative apparatus of the country simply languished from the dominance of the Germans.
In the eighth film "The Princess Hunt" Anna Ioannovna publishes a unique document, according to which the future emperor will be the unborn child of Princess Anna Leopoldovna. For this reason, a fierce struggle begins among the German nobles for the hand and heart of Anna.
The ninth film has not yet been released, most likely, Druzhinin will follow him after the premiere of the film "Midshipmen 1787."
