Sinoflan ointment

Sinoflan ointment is usually white or light yellow in color and the main active ingredient in it is fluocinolone acetonide. Hydrinol D, petrolatum, methyl paraben, citric acid, propylene glycol, macrogol, propyl paraben, cetostearyl ether and purified water are used as auxiliary substances in this preparation. This drug belongs to the corticosteroid group of drugs.

Some people mistakenly call a sinaflan ointment a sinoflan ointment, but in any case, before using it, you need to study the attached instructions in detail, since it is prescribed not only to adults, but also to children.

Sinoflan ointment: use of the drug

The specified tool is used to treat skin itching, lichen planus, seborrheic dermatitis, psoriasis, neurodermatitis, allergic skin diseases, discoid lupus erythematosus, eczema, burns of the first degree, as well as sunburn and insect bites.

Sinoflan ointment has anti-allergic, glucocorticoid, antipruritic and anti-inflammatory effects and is used only as an external agent.

Dosage and recommended doses

A small amount of ointment is squeezed out of the tube and, with the help of rotational massaging movements of the hands, it is rubbed up to 3 times a day into diseased skin areas. For greater effect, often after a sinoflan ointment is applied, the sore spot is covered with an occlusive dressing, on which this agent is additionally applied. So it can be left for 3-4 days. It is not recommended to apply a large amount of the drug to the dressing, it should not exceed 2 grams per day. It is best to use this ointment in the presence of dry forms of dermatoses.

Sinoflan ointment is intended for use over a short period of time. It can not be applied to too large areas of the skin. During treatment with this drug, wearing loose clothing is recommended.

Possible side effects when applying Sinoflan ointment:

- the appearance of burning, skin itching, steroid acne, striae, dry skin, folliculitis ;

- if this drug is used for a rather long period of time, skin atrophy, local hirsutism, telangiectasia, purpura, pigmentation disorders, hypertrichosis, and frontal alopecia are possible, which is especially common in women;

- in cases of applying a large amount of ointment to significant surfaces of the skin, systemic manifestations may appear, such as a β€œsteroid” stomach ulcer, slowing of reparative processes, gastritis, Itsenko-Cushing's syndrome, adrenal insufficiency;

- Secondary immunodeficiency may also appear, which is characterized by an exacerbation of chronic infectious diseases, generalization of the infectious process, and the development of opportunistic infections.

Contraindications to the use of Sinoflan ointment

You can not use this tool in the presence of skin manifestations of syphilis, hypersensitivity, skin tuberculosis, diaper rash, rosacea, acne, extensive psoriatic plaques, itching of the anus and genitals. The use of this ointment is also contraindicated in

- primary skin infections caused by bacteria, viruses or fungi,

- trophic ulcers of the lower legs, which appeared due to varicose veins,

- skin tumors,

- pregnancy, lactation,

- as well as children under 2 years old,

- in the presence of ulcerative lesions and wounds in the ointment.

It is especially cautious to use this drug for girls during puberty. If this tool is applied to children, then you can not cover them with large areas of the skin, as this can cause a child to slow down growth.
