Decaris tablets for children and adults

Among a large number of anthelmintic drugs , “Decaris” tablets should be especially distinguished. For children and adults, this drug is also prescribed as an immunomodulating agent.

This drug belongs to anthelmintic agents of a wide spectrum of action. A single dose of this medication gives a 100% effect of the destruction of roundworms. The active substance of Dekaris tablets is levamisole hydrochloride. 2 types of tablets are produced: 50 mg each (in a package of 2 pcs.) And 150 mg (in a package of 1 pc.).

Indications for use are: ascariasis, nekatorosis, hookworm, strongyloidosis, trichocephaliasis, enterobiosis, trichostrongiasis, toxoplasmosis.

The drug has a paralyzing effect on mature helminths and on their larvae. In some cases (for example, with hookworm), a single dose of this agent is not effective enough (up to 70%), therefore, repeated use of Dekaris tablets increases the effectiveness. The medicine is non-toxic.

Tablets "Dekaris Children's" as such are not available, but the drug with a dosage of 150 mg is not prescribed for children. For the treatment of children, exhausted and elderly people, the dosage is set individually. It directly depends on the weight of such patients (usually 2.5 mg / kg). The dose in adults is 150 mg. It is recommended that you take this medication in the evening after dinner. If constipation occurs, it is advisable to use a glycerin suppository. For the prevention of repeated invasion, it is recommended that therapy be carried out after 7-14 days.

Dekaris tablets for children are used in this dosage:

- 3-6 years - 25-50 mg;

- 6-14 years old - 50-100 mg.

With some helminthiases and mixed invasions, the drug lasts 3 days. Tablets are taken 2 times a day in this dosage:

- adults: 2 tablets;

- children: 1 tablet.

Despite the exact dosages indicated in the instructions for the drug, Dekaris tablets for children and adults should be used only after consulting a doctor.
