Winter is the time to open a jar of jam and get comfortable with tea by the fire, open a canned salad for a warm family meal and remember the smell of summer. Crispy cucumbers - as a universal snack, and in a delightful morning - three liters of tomatoes familiar from childhood ... We all remember the grandmother's cellar, where there are so many all sorts of goodies - canned summer - that my eyes run wide and drooling! Times pass, however, habits and established family traditions, secret family recipes remain. What modern hostesses just wonβt do to surprise guests and outdo each other! Works of culinary art, filigree work are the pride of each of them, but not one rests on their laurels, therefore every year more and more new recipes are born that demonstrate ingenuity and originality. Zucchini caviar, almost a store, only better - easy! Zucchini, almost like pineapples - easily! And how do you like this recipe: tomatoes in gelatin? Indeed, tasty and unusual - tomato jellied meat. How to cook such a miracle?

Tomatoes in gelatin. First recipe
To prepare such wonderful tomatoes, you will need:
- 2 kg of small tomatoes;
- black pepper and allspice - three peas;
- 1/2 kg of onions;
- bay leaves, garlic, dill as desired and taste.
To fill you will need:
- one pack of gelatin (25 g);
- 100 g of granulated sugar;
- 60 g of rock salt;
- 500 ml of water.
Put spices on the bottom of the can, and then lay in layers the tomatoes, pierced in several places with a toothpick, and onion rings. To prepare the marinade, mix all the ingredients, dissolve the gelatin and add to the brine. Boil the marinade and pour them tomatoes. Cover the jars and sterilize over low heat for about 10 minutes. Then cork and store in a cool place.
The second recipe: tomatoes in gelatin
Per liter jar:
- one and a half kilograms of ripe tomatoes;
- 500 g of onion;
- 2 bay leaves;
- black pepper (peas);
- 1000 ml of water;
- 30 g of rock salt;
- 50 g of sugar;
- 1 teaspoon of instant gelatin;
- 1 teaspoon of vinegar essence.
Wash the tomatoes and let them dry. Soak gelatin for 1 hour. If it is instant, it will take about 15 minutes. Cut the tomatoes into slices about 1 cm thick. Also cut the onions into rings about 0.5 cm thick. Wash and dry the jars in the oven. Then pour spices on their bottom, and on top, alternating layers, lay out the tomatoes and onions. From the above ingredients, prepare a brine and pour dissolved gelatin into it. Boil everything again. Pour the cans with marinade and sterilize for about 20 minutes. Add the essence at the end. Cork with lids and put the finished product to cool. Store in a cool place.
The third recipe: tomatoes in gelatin in Latvian
Another original recipe. You will need the following ingredients:
- tomatoes - 1.5 kg;
- carrots - 0.3 kg;
- 4 tablespoons of granulated sugar;
- 2 tbsp. tablespoons of salt;
- 9% vinegar - 1 teaspoon;
- 10 g of instant gelatin;
- 1000 ml of water;
- bay leaf and pepper to taste.
Cut tomatoes into slices. Grate the carrots on a coarse grater or chop finely. Dissolve the gelatin according to the instructions on the package. Put tomatoes in jars. In the boiling marinade, add gelatin and carrots, boil for 5 minutes and pour the tomatoes with brine. Sterilize the jars, depending on volume, from 5 to 20 minutes.
Fourth recipe: tomatoes in gelatin with cucumbers
We offer you another unusual recipe, for the preparation of which you will need:
- tomatoes, cucumbers, bell peppers, onions;
- 2 l of water;
- salt - 120 g;
- pepper, bay leaf, dill to taste;
- 200 ml of 9% vinegar;
- 3 tablespoons of gelatin per glass of marinade.
Put spices on the bottom of the sterilized cans , and then lay in layers sliced ββtomatoes, peppers and cucumbers. Prepare the brine and add the dissolved gelatin (quantity indicated above). Pour the marinade over vegetables, boil the filled cans and roll up.
